One of the kids have to be traded. You can't keep all 3

One of the main core pieces have to be traded, you can't keep all 3

One of the dmen have to be traded, you can't keep all 3

That should be enough turnover to wake the team up

Also get s coach who doesn't have his f***ing head so far up his ass that he can't see what's happening right to him. f***ing bum ass loser
Why can’t you keep all three kids? They are cheap. There’s no reason except spite.

Yeah, “one of the D men” needs to be traded, and that one is named Jacob Trouba. He sucks.

Pick an expensive forward to move too, but if it can’t be Panarin, it’s probably Kreider.

Series was lost in G3 when they went 0/5 or 0/6 on the powerplay. 1 goal there wins us the game and most likely the series in 5.
The series was lost when we drew New Jersey as our opponent. We aren’t good enough.

Better team won. Nothing else can be said about this series. An organization that understands the assignment versus an organization that doesn't.

Like, they tried. I really do believe that. They had no business going 7. This is just how bad they are.

You look at the failure of all the high picks. The way they play overall just isn't right. Panarin was not this bad until he got here. People say "oh we develop defense tho." Do we? I see a talented kid in Miller and a high pick in Schneider both becoming clueless board-chippers. Even Trouba used to have a decent first pass.

There's a massive stank in this organization, particularly in regard to skill and speed.

We've changed coaches. We've gone through a few cores now where the talent either just isn't there or it's there on paper but they play weird.

The smell is coming from upstairs.

Since Sather joined the organization 23 years ago, this team has been legitimately good at playing real (mostly 5v5) hockey three times - 2008, 2014, and 2015. The other 20 years have ranged from bad to "this literally isn't hockey."

They even tried to do a rebuild and it led them to the same type of team because the same people ran it.

The legitimately good players feel like accidents. They don't value skilled, fast players or develop those skills within their players. The ones that they acquire see huge portions of their game fall apart. The organization's understanding of NHL offense is broken. No move or set of moves will move the needle until the culture changes.

The Devils sucked for a long time and they changed things. We haven't meaningfully changed things in a long time.

NOTE: Please remember that the list of Machinehead is active in the summer.
Spot on, but like the Cowboys with Jerry Jones, there is no hope that Sather will leave. He will be here till death does us part.

The other sad part isn’t that this was like a one-off and we are overreacting. That team that beat us is the future of the conference. They will be in our path every year.

One team did the rebuild right and the other did not.

And the Devils still have Holtz, L. Hughes, and Nemec coming.

We are screwed.

Back to the lottery. They have triple our young talent.

I’m not crowning the Devils the future of the Metro after a 7 game series where we played awful for large stretches. Credit to them for adjusting but we didn’t get beat by their top guys. I bet Carolina thought they’d have to go through us every year after last season

Last year when we blew a 2-0 lead to TB, I kind of took solace in the fact that we weren’t going to beat the Avs in the finals anyway based on how dominant they were. Anything could happen of course, but there was only a slim chance we would pull it off.

This year is different. Carolina is banged up + for whatever reason we have had their number recently. Florida and Toronto are tough but not unbeatable (not to mention the choke factor looming over the Leafs). No one in the west is a powerhouse. I assume we’d have the most trouble with Edmonton but when you’re going up against the best player of this generation then that is to be expected.

This team couldn’t put it together and in turn it’s a real missed opportunity at a cup.

Tough to believe how hard we bottled this. This entire season has been weird, but winning two in Jersey to start it off and then losing both at home just sums it up.

Also love how the players suddenly turn into pee-wee players not having a clue what to do out there.

Anyway, let's go Canes. Bury these fuccs.

And I’m the world’s biggest Kakko fan and I still hope and pray Laf can figure it out, but something is just not working here.

I don’t want to trade these guys but time to stop just hoping they develop.

The team needs to do something dramatically different.

Amen.

Something is rotten at the organizational level for what happened in the last 6 years to happen with the draft picks to happen. I thought it was literally statistically impossible for what happened to happen until I've seen it with my own two eyes.

If I'm a rich guy that has a rooting interest in this team, I buy the f***ing team and shitcanning Sather is the first move I make within 60 seconds from the time the paperwork is signed.
I agree with you & @Machinehead & the others that this organization is a problem.

At bottom it's not about winning. It's about making money. Which happens here no matter what. Managers/ownership don't have to win. They just have to keep their position at the outflow end of the money funnel.

Which is the thing they're good at.

Why would Dolan sell?

Even if they are, it shouldn't take this long.

Matty Beniers is like seven years old (and looks 43 apropos of nothing) and is already an impact player.

Beniers averages 2 more minutes of TOI than any of the Kids. I’d say that’s a significant factor

If we're going to play the "let's be realistic and try to make the best of it" game, I would be very interested in firing this guy (and anybody else responsible for skills development) and going from there.

Like, Jesus Christ, every player we have gets worse at everything. They see it, right?
exactly. They have the money to spend on the best people. Tampa got Barb Underhill to work exclusively with them. We can't do that? Of course we can. That we don't is an indictment of management/ownership ... but they don't care, cuz the money rolls in regardless of performance in MSG/Rangerland.

Anyone else feel like the rangers ran out of legs in the second period. Just trying to skate with the faster, younger devils for 6 games in a row were them out?

The start of the game. 2 on 1, against a rookie goalie who may be doubting his game after the last one, and we don't even get a sog...

And I've been a big Kakko supporter since we got him, but when he lost the board battle for the puck late in the 3rd and the debbie's came down the ice and got the 3rd goal, I was ready to fire him into the sun. Isn't that supposed to be his game? Puck possession and winning board battles?

FML as a rangers fan.

we should throw every single resource we have out there to get the best coaches and trainers and scouts but we don't

We just played that ugly ass series essentially without Panarin if you wanna look at it that way and somehow people are like "that was amazing I'll have 82."

If you have a plan, and he doesn't fit into that plan, that's one thing. If replacing him is the entire plan, you just saw what that will look like.

"Get good players with his money" isn't a plan. There's no such thing as good players as soon as they get here. That's what needs to be fixed.

Dan Girardi taught me a long time ago the difference between symptom and disease.

I bring up the failures of Lafreniere and Kakko but I don't think different young players in the same situation would be any better.
