The Kids are 4th liners because that’s what’s been asked of them. Panarin has blocked them from bigger roles because of his refusal to play with them. Gallant needs to go as well obviously. I mean you blame Sather for all the organizational ills, he hasn’t even been involved in the team in years. Drury is going nowhere.
The shift in the 2nd when they were finally generating some zone time and Laf decides to take a 30 Foot wristlet from the boards with no one in front to kill the shift is the best example of his career to this point.

Give me Quenneville. Someone will give him another shot and it may as well be us. I guess Sullivan too could be an option if Pit moves on from him

It was exhausting to watch Lundqvist's heroics mean nothing season after season because the team could just never score enough big goals to accomplish anything. Here we are again, with history repeating with Shesterkin. The names change, the systems change, the years change but the lone constant is that this offense simply comes up short time and time again.

I did not have Kane and Tarasenko being out 2nd and 3rd best point producers and us still losing on my bingo card. If you told me before playoffs, with no other hints, that Kane and tarasenko were our 2nd and 3rd best forwards, I would think we went on a deep, deep run.

Ultimately, Mika of Games 1-5, Panarin, Trocheck, and the entire efforts in Games 5 & 7 lost this series for us.

Its hard to know where to go from here with all the NMC's, but one storyline I find ridiculous is that this falls squarely on Gallant. 5 of his top 6 forwards combined for 6 goals in 7 games. Take away Tarasenko's 3 and 4 of his top 6 forwrds combined for 3 goals. Take away Kane because he had points, and its Mika, Bread and Trocheck (top 2 paid centres and top paid winger all with NMC's) combined for 2 goals through the entire series.

No matter what Gallant "adjusted", you aren't winning when those statistics hold true.

Amen Gallant. I stand with you coach. The Devils outworked the Rangers top guys, full out. This is Gallant's Bowness moment right here, he just didn't get too emotional about it

Chytil signed his extension and literally stopped scoring. He was barely mentioned at all in this series. Miller was also invisible. Fox and the way he plays has been figured out by the rest of the league and he is not adjusting. You are blind if you think Adam Fox is this wizard who never makes mistakes. He makes tons of bone-headed plays. When your top two scoring forwards no-show in the playoffs you are toast.

Trade Goodrow and Lafreniere in the off-season. Use that cap space and trade capital to acquire a Top 6 RW. If one of Kane or Tarasenko wanna stay they can but only if it’s dirt cheap, I see Kane taking a really cheap 1 year deal.

If they wanna shake things up they can trade Panarin but I don’t see him waiving unless it’s a team like Florida or LA. He will probably stay, score 90 points again, and disappear in the playoffs.

There was a miss communication there. He thought his line mate was cutting to the front of the net. I think it was Kaako. He went around the back side so it just ended up being a pass to the goalie

So I'm curious.. are we gunning for another pointless run or do we commit to a rebuild?
I believe the term is 're-tool'.

At least one vet will go, and probably one of the kids. But there won't be a letter to the fans, and the season goal will be still be playoffs

The problem with everyone suggesting they trade for picks is this organization is beyond pathetic at developing from within. Way too many guys either not live up to their potential or mysteriously stagnate here. It's beyond concerning at this point.

If we gave them a real shot, we would win like 23 games.

And we'd get Bedard and turn him into Gilbert Brule

Idk what to tell you guy. 0 goals in the playoffs. 11.6 million. You want to trade one of Kakko or Laf I’m all ears in the right deal. Include Miller in that group. But as long as we’re getting a donut from Panarin in the playoffs it doesnt matter
I'm not even really arguing against your point about Panarin. It's that you think it's going to change anything and the fact that you want to promote worse players. Lafreniere had zero points in that series.

The only good reason to give the shit-filled diapers a bigger role is if we're just rebuilding again. They'll help the tank tremendously.
