NOW it's time to play for real! Gimme a break, I can't take it with these player quotes. It's all a scam, I don't even think they believe it anymore.

Lol this sounds like a f***ing college basketball player.

“We’re gonna take it to the hoop”

In all the doom and gloom, this is also very accurate.
Th Devs were a better team than us all year, hence why they have home-ive advantage. They also match up against us stupidly well as they know how to use their speed to exploit us and they showed it throughout the season.
If youu had have told me at the start of the playoffs that they bounced us in 6 I wouldn't have really been surprised, but if you told me they won in 6 (which hasn't happened yet) after we won the first 2 pretty convincingly I'd be pissed.

You can kill speed. You can hit them, you can crash the net, you can get chippy.

The Islanders are doing just that against the Canes. Florida are throwing themselves at the Bruins.

This f***ing franchise can't find a happy medium between grit and skill.

I actually like Kreider and think he’s a great Ranger. Just feels like that stat is a bit of a stat of opportunity.
You still have to seize opportunity. He's one of the more clutch scorers of his generation. I don't think that's unfair.

He's still literally goal per game in this series. We scored two goals in three games. He has a point on both of them. Feels like blind rage.

Has anyone on the team tried throwing a helmet? It worked once before.
Just f***ing do something at this point.

The post games look like a bunch of dudes with no answers. Room needs a shake up. Firing the coach isn't the answer even though he shoulder's his lion's share of the blame.

This is where I diverge from @Machinehead . I don't think some modest adjustments a coaching change would bring would change much. They don't have the right horses.

Doesn't change the fact that he has a good chance to end his career with quite literally the most big goals in NHL history.

He's not responsible for this.
I'm a huge CK fan, but I think we're stretching 'big goal' in this instance. I mean it's great that he's scoring, because we are obviously not doing enough of it. But him scoring in game 3 to win us the game is 'bigger' than scoring late when we're down 4-0 in an elimination game.

I guess it doesn't really matter, and as you say he's not responsible and more than anyone else, but he's also not the solution over the last 3 games

Seems like most of the ire around here is being directed at Gallant, Panarin, Zibanejad and Laf. And rightfully so.

Idk, most of the cores that failed and then eventually won didn't change the core. They augmented it.

At the very least, and for the sake of realism under the cap, you try the coach and then see what you have.

Kakko can and will get by on physical tools. Maybe he'll find a way to refine his game to become a solid top-6 guy. Maybe he'll find another gear after the "you should be better" feeling wears off.

Lafrenier can be swapped out for Leschyshyn next game, and it'll make zero difference.

Chytil has been a non-factor too, but don't wanna harp on him when everyone else sucks too.

He does himself no favors when he talks all this shit and then doesn’t back it up, if he’s so pissed off and embarrassed then show it on the ice but he never seems to outside of trying to look tough when cellying

Don’t hate me lol

Even throwing in the blowouts, it’s crazy how little Fox has played five on five.

Kreider is getting some (especially over a quote that means nothing - going through the motions in the least important part of job descriptions) and some is too damn high.

Laf and Kakko have been visible and creating some chances.

Chytil has been absolutely invisible.

You guys read way too much into them saying a bunch of nothing to the media so media goes away.

Get him to gain another 15-25 lbs and just show him videos of Jagr with the puck.

Jagr wasn't speedy but good luck getting him off the puck once he turned his back on you.

The main issue we dont get the most out of our top talents @I Eat Crow like City bought Haaland, because Pep is a genious and experienced coach and get the most out of his top talented players. Haaland will take all the records in his 1st Premier this season at age of 22.
My point is someone need to be responsible for previous years drafting in NY and how they are developed since they are not performing. And where is Zib & Panarin etc..

Of course you can, but then good teams will also adjust, and as per the 'finished above us' part the Devils are a pretty good team (as much as it hurts this board to admit it).
Just like throughout the season where we had leads against them, or were competing well and then they got away from us, they happen to be a tricky match up and one we never really found an ongoing answer to.
That doesn't mean we should just drop 3 games with barely a whimper, but there has to be some nuance and understanding about expectations while also remembering that "the enemy gets a vote"
