tbf though we just aren't as good as the Devils. it was always our worst possible matchup. i'd rather play anyone else in the whole playoffs, even Boston.

Is there a way to break down what he actually does (like how often he directly contributes to high danger chances etc)?
he's an expert at getting and holding the puck, but eye-test wise it seems he either ends up turning it over after trying to go around someone one too many times, or he ends up passing it off to someone who's in a bad spot and takes a crappy shot. You couple that with how slow he is up and down the ice and I just end up wondering whether he's actually a net positive.

Maybe the time has come for Drury to try and build a line around what KK can (or is expected to) bring and try to Moneyball a line that works for him, rather than shoving him on a line that ultimately doesn't produce much
You nailed it in that last paragraph. We don't play in an environment most of our players succeed in.

We try to play in an environment Panarin succeeds in and even that doesn't work because who the f*** is he passing to?

Something substantial needs to be done Saturday.

Bench Panarin?

Get Othmann on a flight to New York, burn an ELC year and yank Lafreniere?

Put Talyn Boyko in?

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Trouba's interview says it all. They have no answers. Something needs to be done to shake up the room and the series.
Has anyone on the team tried throwing a helmet? It worked once before.

What isn't getting enough attention and what's truly depressing and lost in all of this is that this roster currently has a recent #1 overall pick and a recent #2 overall pick and neither of them are doing jack **** or look like they might do jack **** at any point in the near future.

In all the doom and gloom, this is also very accurate.
Th Devs were a better team than us all year, hence why they have home-ive advantage. They also match up against us stupidly well as they know how to use their speed to exploit us and they showed it throughout the season.
If youu had have told me at the start of the playoffs that they bounced us in 6 I wouldn't have really been surprised, but if you told me they won in 6 (which hasn't happened yet) after we won the first 2 pretty convincingly I'd be pissed.

disagree, Kakko is a horse

Alright. So that's 9.5 periods of two goal hockey against a rookie goaltender with a shutout now.

I don't think GG will get fired after we're eliminated. And I see on the bird people calling for his head. I just don't know after two 100+ point seasons. And in the end whether he's the coach or not means nothing to me. The fanbase will just want the next guy fired inside two years as well. Mika and Panarin have been complete embarrassments. Kane had one good game. Tarasenko hasn't done shit since Game 2. Hardly anything from the back end, the kids, 4th line. Trocheck has been shit. Igor and Kreider have performed even though Kreider has been neutralized for the last two games. I think games 1 and 2 were now more on NJ than anything we did. This looks like how the games were played during the regular season. The Devils have a great mix of speed, some physical play, and will take liberties when they can. We have no space to do anything. Not sure what GG can do other than throw lines in the blender for Game 6 and hope NJ takes the night off. And maybe not play the 1-2-2.

They've talked the talk for 3 consecutive games without walking the walk. There's no coming back from talking the talk and getting walked out of the door in 4 straight.
I was floored when Gallant got interviewed right before the third goal and said he was happy with the way the team was playing. The dude's body language, tonality, etc. all spoke of being content.
