No game will be easy but the Devils are strangers to playoff style hockey. They played pond hockey all year. We started wearing them down already and them trying to push back wore themselves down more. They’re frustrated and the seeds of doubt are taking root. It’s not going to get less frustrating for the Devils. This series is ours to lose. If NYR keep playing their game almost no way this series goes past six and will prob end sooner.
They're also not really big enough to play that type of game. Aside from Meier their forwards are small.

Gallant should fine Panarin and Kane $100,000 every time they refuse to get the puck in deep.

The Rangers used the cross corner dump. Chip and chase was effective. The Devils like to have their D stand up in the neutral zone. Chip the puck behind their D and go get it. Pucks deep.

Panarin should not be lumped in with Kane. Outside the overpass to Lindgren, he was very good

I would have benched Kane after he didn't make the redline ( with a lot of space) and lazily backhanded the puck to a Devil instead of getting it deep....

Great road win. Nice to see them step up their effort and intensity.

It's a miracle, but for the first time all season I don't have a complaint about Panarin. Nice to see him step up defensively. I thought I was hallucinating this one shift that all three forwards including Panarin skated back hard on defense.

Man, what a steal with that Tarasenko and Mikkola trade. On the other hand, Kane, not so much. It's early though and at least he looked a little better in the third. Some of the guys that got off to a rocky start played better as the game went on. Miller and Trouba were a bit shaky at times though.

We need to get pucks in deep against this team.

Shesty looked sharp. Let's take game two.

We set the tone early, and the Devils just couldn't handle it. We took away their time and space and they were lost, without a clue on how to go forward. And that was kind of surprising. Generally, a team has some kind of push back. But when we neutralized their speed game by getting in their face, they had no answer for it. It was only when we took our foot off the gas, early in the second, that they looked like a contending team. But soon after, we went back to attacking, pressuring and closing gaps, leaving them lost once again.

This can be a short series if the Devils don't find a way to handle playoff type hockey.

If our top six cancel out the Devils, our bottom 6 will give us a big edge.

Mistakenly had the Devils' broadcast for the 1st period and they put up a stat they're 23-12-3 or something after giving up the first goal lol.

Kane was atrocious. We have to stop going backwards in our zone. Get the puck out, then get it deep.
