GDT: Detroit Red Wings 5, Los Angeles Kings 2 (Final)

Gotta say, with these funny posts flying around here, this is a pretty entertaining game, in a masochistic kind of way.
 
Not going to freak out about the offense, the Kings are without their best center and best winger.

The defense on the other hand is an area for concern. Greene and Regehr both in the top six, even when everyone is healthy could be a big problem.

I kinda thought it would be Regehr to go. Now there's no way they can afford to do that.
 
There's really no reason for the Kings to ever go into Detroit to play a hockey game. It rarely ends well.

The Kings haven't played well from game 1 of the season. They're on the road, playing good teams, and it's finally catching up to them. Now it won't stop until they start playing better, and even then, it'll probably take a game or two of playing well but losing before they start a winning streak.

But yeah, this looks like pretty much every game in Detroit for the Kings. This looks like the first two periods of Game 2 against Chicago in the conference final. The Wings are just scoring more.

Man, its so sloppy of late that in my darkest moments I fear Regehr leaving.

I got to admit, I thought the $4.25 for Mitchell was a bit high and was ok with him moving on, but looking back at it the Kings should have made cuts elsewhere and kept Mitchell for a couple of more years.

Once Voynov comes back things will be better, but there is still no one close to filling that role WM provided.
