I got to admit, I thought the $4.25 for Mitchell was a bit high and was ok with him moving on, but looking back at it the Kings should have made cuts elsewhere and kept Mitchell for a couple of more years.

Find the money to do that. What two guys are going to fit Mitchell's $4.25 in under the cap? You can't just say buy out Richards, since that wasn't going to happen.

At least we're spawning main board threads. Three games, three players who are suddenly awesome...Voracek, Malkin, Datsyuk. It's like the good ol days.

Williams in pain on the bench, looks like Chris Kingsley just popped his shoulder back in.

Oh hey! Another Kings penalty!

Well, ofcourse that is my answer. And it's not unreasonable, it was not a slam dunk that the Kings never considered the buyout option this past summer. Say the Kings went with the buyout option and chose not to re-sign Greene, that is almost $8 million of cap space, half that goes to Mitchell then you replace the fourth line center hole at whatever the going rate for a fourth line center is. And the Kings are not up against the cap.

Again, I'm not saying I was all for bringing Mitchell back, there was plenty of risk. But boy do the Kings miss him right now, more than they would miss other people they let go. I think whether you were for or against him coming back, we can all agree his loss has been major.
