My bad. I posted before my morning coffee (West Coast).

While some of your lines actually look intriguing, that top line is gonna struggle to score. Of course you can make the argument that the top line isn't scoring anyways, lol.

I'd be more inclined to move Ray to Compher's line and move Joe or Raz to the first but not both. Ray and JT show some chemistry together when they play in OT. Throw everyone else in the blender.

Or just swap Compher and Dboss, Compher actually has 5 points in the last 5 games, so he's the hot hand right now. Either way he needs to shoot more often.

Understandable, it takes me a full hour after waking up to do anything.

I want to break the 1st line and seperate the Copp-Comp duo. I started thinking that Fester wants a shutdown line and Ras has played couple good games lately, and Veleno has been good pretty much the entire season so far. So make the 1st the shutdown line and i wouldn't say immediately that they will struggle to score, i would say that there is lots of scoring potential in that line.

Kostin-Compher-Raymond and Fabbri-Copp-DeBrincat would work too, main thing is that the 1st gets broken and i would put all of them in different lines for a while at least. Then later we think about putting Larkin and DeBrincat back together.

For the love of all that is HOLEY, please. ditch. Petry. NOW!
Agreed. Don't think Ghost deserved to be a scratch either, at least he is a threat on the PP..

It's gotta be time to give Lyon a start as well. Husso has been hot garbage this year and I don't think Reimer is the answer.

I really just feel frustrated

The entire organization, top to bottom, feels incredibly mediocre at the moment. Meanwhile I look around the league and see so much exciting skill and potential

It’s probably just a result of being f***ed over endlessly by the lottery. But I’m just frustrated and tired of hoping for better when it feels like the writing is on the wall with the current state of things

I mean we don’t even have one rookie in the lineup right now and we’re icing a .500 team. Our pp goes dry and we’re seeing Jeff Petry trotted out as the solution while Edvinsson stays in GR… like what the hell are we doing here?

Sorry I’m probably being overly negative but just in my feels right now lol

They should bring Edvinsson, Kasper and Berggren in Sweden and let some vets to rest
Ed and Berggren should get a game in Sweden for sure imo. At the very least it's a nice gesture from the team to let them play on their home soil infrastructure of their family and friends I'm sure.

To play devil's advocate, they knew they had a chance of playing in Sweden at the start of the year and if it wasn't motivation enough to play harder, more efficient hockey, they don't ''deserve'' to go. It might sound harsh, but I don't mean it as the end all be all.

Hmm this could be bad. Not that Husso was lighting up the world or anything but Reimer has got mostly muffin games and I'm happy to see Lyon get a game finally but he is pretty cold.

Reimer can't be much worse. If he starts getting the same goal support in his starts there could even be a conversation for who should be the starter.

Remember how bad Jimmy Howard was his last final two years? Statistically, Husso is attempting to chase him and isn't far behind. Also: Those 2018-2020 Red Wings were considerably worse than the current roster.

I keep stat watching Cossa hoping to see a .940 SV% and 1.8 GAA.

Why didn't the bottom 5 D have to play to the same standard?

Well, the team is 9th place in the conference now in pt %.

They're still asleep during the first 2 periods in road games. I don't understand why they can't hire a consultant to review travel routines. This team is consistently one of the worst road teams in the league year after year. the first 2 road games gave me some hope, but the last 2 not so much. Can't expect to come from behind and win by playing only the third period every road game.

The biggest problem this highlights to me is team depth. Not controlling the matchups as a away team means that our opponents decide the line matchups. And while the Wings have improved over the past few years they aren't as deep as the fans thought they where. There is still aways to go with team development, but we still have 2-3 years of prospects developing.

This is the deepest team in 7 years, the only AHLer on the team is Czarnik who only plays when Fabbri is out. The biggest matchup problem I see is that the team is slow, especially the bottom 3 defensemen, but a coach should be able to manage that. My biggest concern is that they are sluggish in the first 2 periods of every road game, just like they've been for the past decade. Matchup doesn't explain why the top line can't score because they should be able to score against any line, and PP1 always faces the top penalty killers.

I still think there's something going on during these trips. Traveling takes people out of their daily routine, doing things like drinking coffee on the plane can disrupt sleep patterns. I assume these guys aren't out partying on road trips like players did back in the old days, but who knows.... maybe they are. Russian players seem to have a party reputation, but this team only has one. One way to handle it is to move the curfew 10 minutes earlier every time they lose, 10 minutes later if they win. That'll motivate them, lol.

I'm not saying it's the only issue. But when opponents control the matchups, it's still a struggle. So yes, our depth is in question. If a team can shut us down through all 4 lines yes it gets highlighted. Team speed is a issue but Perron walks/retires Bergie gets called up. As well as 1-2 years outside of Chiapet the vets will rotate.

The depth has improved, but the quality depth isn't there. We aren't bottom 5 hope for #1 depth. But in all likelihood we are probably bottom half of the league depth sat 16th to 21st range depth.

They might not be able to score, but the depth should be able to hold their own against anyone.

Bergie is worse defensively than Perron, and it takes Perron half a shift just to skate back to the defensive zone, lol.

I liked Perron for the first half of last season, but his effort and play has really been underwhelming since then. I know he is 34, but his pt totals actually make it look like he has done better than he has.

I think we are top 3 or top 5 in goals for? We should have a better record with the amount of goals we’ve been able to score. Problem is we have to put up like 5 or 6 goals to win a game.

It’s not all on the goalies, but I have wondered what this team would look like with better goaltending.

Is there anyone available that could give us an upgrade in net?

Kenny will outbid Stevie for any available goalie. We're talking about a GM willing to pay a 1st for Kyle Quincey.

I mean... there has to be a reason we gave Lyon a 2-year 1-way contract, right?
