Rasmussen has been such a disappointment this year. I thought he’d be a tweener at this point but dude is limited skill material. Such a waste of a big frame too. He could be so much more physically imposing than he is.

Dude is gonna be 25 before seasons end and still looks like he has the strength of an 18 year old. Bro needs to bulk up a bit. And don't even worry about losing a little speed if it means being able to take a hit better.

I really like his competitiveness/attitude when he’s out there but beyond that…. Nothing special about him as a player.

Yeah, I’m not saying he isn’t a committed guy. He usually plays with pace. He’s just really limited with the puck on his stick, doesn’t really create or find space either.

I think we are top 3 or top 5 in goals for? We should have a better record with the amount of goals we’ve been able to score. Problem is we have to put up like 5 or 6 goals to win a game.

It’s not all on the goalies, but I have wondered what this team would look like with better goaltending.

Is there anyone available that could give us an upgrade in net?

Honestly, I would be ok if we tried to get Saros if they were willing to trade him. I doubt Saros gets traded, as goalies don't have great returns, but he is definitely a big upgrade in goal.

New Jersey and Boston up next eh.

Four points incoming.

Don't worry, we will only start playing about 35 minutes into the game and then will play pretty well only to come up short because of the aforementioned 35 minutes. On the plus side, Lalonde won't mess with the lines, so as not to mess with the insane chemistry this team has found. Walman being hurt will also be a bonus as now Lalonde won't stress about having to sit a vet, and can rightly give Chiarot and Petry more minutes, which will really help stabilize us.

Walman hurt means Chiarot on top pair.

I don't want to watch. I have enough pain in my life.

Chiarot playing at all is bad enough, let alone top pair. Maybe Lalonde needs to go, as there is no reason he should be playing as much as he does.

I don't really get the change the lines rage, we are 3rd in scoring which is just crazy. The problem is dumb penalties, defense collapses, powerplay vanished, and goaltending has been iffy. I dunno if it's a system thing or personnel thing, maybe both.

Kostin is not a 1st line winger
Raymond works well on top line why mess with that.

I think the Edvinsson thing is becoming indefensible. We are not going to be a basement team barring a really big injury. Our slide dictates a change in the group if the goal is trying to push for the playoffs. It is time to call him up, do what you need to do but Stevie owes it to the dressing room, owes it to the organization, and he owes it to the fans.

To be fair there is no one on the NHL roster that can play on the top pair other than Seider and Wallman. Most of these guys are bottom pairing defensemen at this point. An argument could be made they are all bottom player dmen other than Seider and Wallman.

This is looking like where the Wings are gonna fall in the standings. Over the next 2 months where they basically play every other day after the holiday break is reality setting in. Unfortunately there are way too many meh passengers on the team. The hot start looks like the outlier right now.

the Devils have had some pretty brutal injuries this year

dunno if either of them will be back on Wednesday but they've been missing their top two Centers in Hughes and Hischier for weeks now

After 17 games, I went and looked back at how the Wings were doing last season.

This year, the Wings are 8-6-3 with 19 points.

Last year, The Wings were 8-5-4 with 20 points.

This year's team so far is better offensively with 3.59 GFG. Compared to 2.93 GPG last season.

This year's team is worse defensively with 3.35 GAA. Compared to last year's team being at 3.27GAA.

Husso was way better last season, Chiarot-Seider were stinking up the joint and Maatta-Hronek were holding down the fort.

This team should be better defensively, Even with the likes of Petry.
