Lets not get crazy with this kid ok?

He's a 50pt player. He's having a very solid run for us, but to think that all of a sudden he's going to outscore Gaborik next season is a bit crazy.

He is absolutely better than a 3rd line center, but he gives this team legit 2nd second line and that is going to make him and us alot more dangerous.

Granted, he could find himself in a situation where a change of scenery and a reduced amount of pressure to prodice has allowed him the freedom to play a more relaxed game thereby allowing him to exceed prior career highs, but i don't expect it.

If he can give this Rangers team 40-50 points from the 3rd line position, then that would be spectacular.

Unless Gaborik gets healthy again and I mean completely healthy, he may not get more than 50 pts. His shot and speed are just gone.

Gaborik's shoulder injury last year destroyed his shot permanently. You can tell just by watching him play that there is no longer the same mobility in that shoulder.

If not permanently, certainly for a longer period of time than I was expecting. His shot this year was good by NHL standards, but his shot used to be absolutely elite and his game is sort of built around that.

Granted it's probably still the honeymoon phase, I'm real happy with the trade overall. Brass has been great, Moore looks solid with some upside and I think Dorsett is going to be a real asset. From everything I've read, he's really itching to play as a Ranger.

Can I be Avatar bet commissioner?

Sure.

Me and schabadoo made this bet:

Perhaps, but I'm not feeling to confident in this team from what I've saw this season.

Avatar bet? I the Rangers win a playoff series, you pick an avatar for me to have for 3 months, they win 2, pick one for 6 total months, another 9 total and full year if they win the cup. If the Rangers lose, you sport an avatar of my choice for 3 months. :)

Of course the Brassard bet will be in place once the Rangers are eliminated.

I have reviewed and approved Schabadoo bet. It is in place.

I'm on my way to slowly taking over the boards....

What should we expect from Brass in the playoffs?

I've really liked his game and think he's a really good fit for this club, but he's had no experience in the NHL playoffs and other than a couple decent playoff seasons in the Q, there not much to go on for him when it comes to crunch time.

No doubt he's got talent and he reminds me of a younger Richards in some regards. Hopefully he takes it to another level.

Who knows, he's never played an NHL playoff game BUT his final season in the QMJHL he scored 24 points in 12 games to be BY FAR the teams leading scorer. And in his only season in the AHL he scored 13 points in 13 playoff games, 2nd on the team. So my thinking is, he is going to show up.

I think he can be an x-factor kind of guy, being on a 2a or 2b line with all of that talent. When the speed and intensity of the game goes up he seems to respond (from what I've seen), and he might be the type of guy with all of that skill to get lost in the defense (in a good way).

I'm eager to see how he'll respond to a more physical game though, because he's not a giant. I'm hoping Richards will be a playoff mentor for him because like I said above, I think they have a lot of similar qualities to their game.

Brassard/Richards will be a key to this series with Laich out. The Rangers, for once, actually have the better offensive center depth going into a series.

Well, pre-2012 our team had no experience whatsoever. We had Brad 'he won a Conn Smythe trophy 10 years ago so he must be amazing' Richards, Prust, Fedotenko and that's it. Still we got to the conference finals with all those young guys. Sometimes it's good to have some new kids starting the play-offs. Staal, Del Zotto, McDonagh, Stepan, Hagelin, Callahan, Asham have all played in the play-offs now and Nash will be firing to show what he can do. I am sure Brassard and Moore will have no problem performing with those experienced guys taking away most of the pressure.

what a game by brassard. this is really starting to look like a fantastic trade for the rangers. he already looks a whole lot better than gaborik has looked in the playoffs.

Could be great 2nd line center in the future, with some real finishers on his wings.

Boyle - Brassard() - Asham

:sarcasm:

Love you Brass. Keep it up.

Edit: Actually, I wouldn't be opposed to trying that line out, haha.

yeah i thought brassard would be kind of the soft but skilled underachieving C but hes pretty chippy and definitely a willing grinder when it needs to be done. ive been very happy with him as a ranger.
