Not at all. Just looking forward. Next season, do you see Asham on the Rangers? I don't, and I like Asham. I can't see his value rising; it will only decrease and rightly so.

I hope he helps us a lot in the near future, though.

no Dorsett pretty much makes him replaceable

This kid is a gem. Loving his game! Great skater, heavy, accurate shot, and can thread the needle as well as Richards and Zuccarello. He's gonna be big here, I feel it. Excited to see Dorsie soon!

I'm laughing at the guy who was listening to Jackets fans about Brassard. The Jackets are a clueless organization who never put squat around Nash and Brassard. You are seeing what these two players can do with real talent around them.

Amen! See also Voracek, even Carter...

Nash and Brass had some years where there were only about 8 other NHL-caliber players on the CBJ

Dave Maloney compared Brassard to Marc Savard. Good comparison. I can see that. Nifty playmakers. Brassard is a much better skater than Savard ever was. Gorton gave Savard $20M in free agency in 2006. Savard was a really good player in Boston before the Cooke hit. Maybe Gorton sees Savard in Brassard.

I agree, easily a 2nd line center on most teams, underrated skill set

he was taken 6th overall by the Jackets so they must have seen something that they like... maybe he was rushed into the NHL due to lack of depth on the Jackets. some players once they need a change of scenery once they are traded feel more relaxed... he has been in rumors for a few years.. so maybe he isnt thinking about it anymore...

Oh I get it. You didn't want Gabby traded so you're now trying to rationalize your opinion on the trade by hating on Brassard. Instead of you know enjoying it now and waiting to see what happens you're telling everyone how much he sucks in order to justify your own opinion about the Gabby trade. You seem to be convinced that he's streaky and will suck in no time, but you can't even look not 100% correct for a few weeks. You have to tell everyone RIGHT NOW how much he will suck, because otherwise for a short period of time, it looks like you may have not been 100% right.

No, I didn't like Brassard before he became a Ranger. I would've preferred pretty much anyone else in their top 9 besides Letestu and Prospal.

If we can get Marc Savard-type play out of Brassard, that would be awesome.

PPG player in his time here. As many goals and more assists than what Gaborik has for CLB.

We have won this trade so far! :yo:

That doesn't disprove anything I said in that post. You didn't like Brassard before the trade and hated the trade, so you're saying how he'll suck to make your opinion on the trade seem better. It's also hilarious since you're so sure that he will suck, yet you can't wait for him to start sucking and THEN say how you were right about the trade. Your opinion cannot look not 100% correct even for a small portion of time.

Brassard has provided solid 2nd line production since he was acquired. I remain thrilled that he was in the deal for Gaborik.

Loving this guy. Great passing and can score some goals too. Isn't lazy on the back check either.

It looks like when someone told him Torts was going to make him earn his ice time, his response was "Perfect".

His success is something great to see.

I just love watching him play, he's a great skater and is just all over the ice. I think he and Kreider could play very well together in the future when Kreider gets his **** together! Brassard is great at holding on the puck and patiently waiting for someone to pass to.

Brass-God (Hat tip to Jonathan) looks so happy happy to be here, legitimately thrilled. Keep putting those pucks in!

Gabby has 7 points (3+4) in 11 games as a Blue Jacket. Brassard has 11 points (5+6) in 12 games as a Ranger. Throw in 5 points (1+4) from Moore and a Dorsett that hasen't even been on the ice as a Ranger yet, and you have what seems like a damn good trade for us.

11p in 12gp is 2nd line production? Those are some ridiculous standards.

His overall play may have been on a 2nd line level, but his production so far has been on a 1st line level.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Brassard. I like him and he has upside, but I've yet to see him have a big impact out there. He makes an individually nice play here and there, but he doesn't dictate play and force the opposition back like say Stepan, Zuccarello, or even Hagelin. Right now he doesn't contribute much outside his points, especially at ES.

Right now he is like a Mike Ribeiro. Ribeiro produces more than say David Krejci, but who in their right mind wants Ribeiro over Krejci?

But until this year, Stepan looked a lot like Brass out there: Little impact overall, but with a few fantastic plays sprinkled in here and there. Hopefully he can like Stepan figure out how to bring it consistently.
