Brassard is making plays and holding onto the puck, he is a very smart player, and I personally think deserves to replace Richards on the roster for 1/2 the cost.
 
I have no issues with a player that has posted 14 points over 16 games (including the PO's)

Brassard has shown up in big games since joining the Rangers.

He's not expected to or relied upon to be on the score-sheet every game. That is Richards, Nash, Stepan and Callahan's job.

Brassard is here to provide dangerous secondary scoring something he has done in spades.

It has the potential to be. Kreider has shown nothing this year, and while Miller showed potential he also showed he's not yet ready. Yeah, it could be good, but it's a little premature to state that it WILL be good.
 
Both Kreider and Miller on same line? Too soon.

I'm hoping Brassard's #2 Center, so he will be playing with better options. Miller has the kind of two way play to balance out the 2nd line, can switch he and Hagelin, as I'm sure will be the case with Torts.

Are you coming around on Brass yet, BN? :)

Kid is having a nice POs so far and had a great finish to the regular season.
 
Met Kreider yesterday. Reports about him being very humble are definately true. Him and Gordie were standing around near the Delta Club (I think) I told CK that I hoped he'd get to play again in the series. Gordie said he hoped so too. But you could tell that Kreider is very humble, I don't think he knew how to respond. I think he'll be fine next year.

He is an extremely hard worker, he will be fine. All of this "Torts has it out for Chris" is total BS.

I always liked him, was a fan in '06 draft. Had him at #7 and he went #6.

On this team I was worried he'd get knocked around, especially in the dot where he traditionally struggled. I was never worried about points, just the consistent effort needed to contribute with mostly grunts like Pyatt and Dorsett. I'm glad he's come in with the kind of attitude and skill that we knew he was capable of, coming from the wasteland, we had little to go on but 'hes getting out of Columbus'.

Play him 18 to 20 minutes a game ! Reduce Richard's role, he was done by the third period, the coaches must be seeing it.

I like how physical he has been. I was NOT expecting that. I mean, he threw a check every now and then with Columbus, but he is finishing every single check here. Really impressive. Looks like Torts has him playing a bit more hard-nosed.

I do hope that his health holds up, though, playing that way.

As a CBJ fan, I'm not surprised by this. I think, collectively, we were always worried that he would get himself "broken" again when he does get chippy (ala the Neal fight in Dallas when he separated his shoulder when he jumped in to defend Tyutin).

 
I think yesterday was a very telling day for Brassard.. not because of his goal and 2 apples, but because of what he said before and after the game. He was saying how the team was having fun and playing more relaxed down the stretch of the regular season, but once the playoffs started, everyone tensed up and the locker-room just wasn't the same. He said that they need to relax and have fun out there. I think it's nice that someone is actually speaking up about this and Brassard seems like the kind of laid-back kid that can lighten up the mood and get the team back to having fun. Hopefully this is what happens after yesterday's game.

I actually think all three could make up a pretty solid second line someday down the road. Should they all progress, obviously.

I think Brassard has that vision that would benefit Kreider immensely, and vice versa. Brassard see's open ice so well it's almost Marc Savard-esque. He can put the puck where he knows a player is going to be, and Kreider can find that open ice with his speed, but also chase down those pucks to give Brassard a little more leeway with where he can put the puck. Purely observational at this point, but I'd give it a shot in training camp in the fall.

Miller is excellent along the boards, and has played quite a bit of RW in his career, so he could be that 3rd piece that makes up a very balanced scoring line. Granted, I think if we get one top-six scoring forward out of Kreider, Miller and Fast, we have to be pretty happy with it.
 
Love Brassard.

He's a hard-working player. The way some talked about him, you'd think he was a lazy malcontent. If he's always got this level of battle in his game, I think he'll be a good option as a the 2C moving forward.

Gotta give him a full season, though, his problem has always been consistency.

You could say that I guess, but these guys have been our best on faceoffs in the regular season too. Who centers the fourth line if Powe is out and Brass/Boyle are on the same line? Newbs?
