Not bad. Hopefully we keep Carcillo. I don't have any major complaints about Dorsett other than his cap-hit but that's still not too major. He won't be greatly missed either, though.

Dorsett was a solid 4th liner. Moved for simply cap space?

Looks like they're gonna throw the big bucks at stralman and possibly stastny.

All 1.6 million of them?

No they won't.

Wasn't it already mentioned that the Rangers plan didn't involve signing or trading for a big money center?

Oh yeah it was.

Bourque? Why are we talking about Bourque?

He was drafted five years ago.

Carcillo-Moore-Boyle. Don't ruin a good thing.

Because he's young, scored 21 goals last year and is fast and can penalty kill? I don't care when he was drafted. If they think he's ready, he'll play.

Think these guys would play well together? (Asking not condescending)

I think Moore and Carcillo play well together. Bourque is a hard working in your face grinder who is perfect for the 4th line. Guy was killing it by the end of the Wolfpack season this past season.

I think it's worth a shot, especially since few teams will take a flyer on Carcillo after that suspension. Could sign the guy for $825,000, he'd almost ahve to take it

regardless of who takes his spot, shedding that 1.6 and getting the 85th overall pick in return are both major pluses for the Rangers.

would not at all be shocked if the rangers go with an all kid 4th line to start next season.

Fasth - Lindberg - Bourque

Rangers are re-signing Ryan Bourque. In the Gordie Clark-Jeff Gorton pre-draft question and answer with Jim Cerny--Gorton brought up Bourque and the progress the team feels he has made. I don't know how much exactly this had to do with the Dorsett trade but Bourque is definitely back in the Rangers plans and he did have a really good year in Hartford. That Gorton brought him up at all unsolicited by Cerny makes me think that Bourque might even make a run at an NHL job.

Third rounder seems fair for Dorsett--bearing in mind that a 3rd rounder is probably not going to play with us for a while. The saved cap space might allow the Rangers to keep one of their UFA's however or bring in someone better.

I liked Dorsett a lot and thought he played pretty well in the playoffs.

But to get a 3rd rounder is nice for him, salary dump.

If he scores 2 or 3 big goals in the playoffs this doesnt happen though. Needed that badly from him. See ya Dorsy.

The Rangers may have a short window to Cup contend. They goal is winning the Stanley Cup, or at least getting back to it.

Moore, Boyle and Carcillo all scored decisive/critical goals in two Game 7's and a Game 6.

Don't see the Rangers making much noise with a rookie 4th line.
