I like the return.

I don't see them moving towards a 3 line team. AV likes to use four lines and made the SCF doing so. If he has anything to say we won't be seeing a fourth line of Carcillo/Fast - Moore - Lindberg

Though for what it's worth I have heard from a source who claims to know (and whom I trust would not be making stuff up) people in management that the Rangers are doing "something" tonight, implying that "something" is more than just a 4th liner for a 3rd round pick.

Yep. We just dismantled the best 4th line in the league.

Typical ******** turnover. Will **** us next season.

they were the best 4th line in the league with or without Dorsett there. When Carcillo was there, they were just fine. Its really about Moore & Boyle than the othe rplayer on that line. sadly i doubt both come back, and i wouldnt be shocked if neither come back. both are likely going to double, maybe even triple what they made last season. cant pay 4th liners 2-3 mil...just cant.

They got two solid seasons out of Dorsett as a throw-in in the Gaborik trade.

The one concern is team tougness. Carcillo is a loose cannon but more of an agitator.

They need somebody to fight. Dorsett was a tremendous teammate.

Still, they need assets.

Losing all of those fights in the Stanley Cup Finals lost us the series

D. Moore & Boyle were what drove that line, though. Until we officially lose them, I'm not too worried about dismantling the line. If the extra .8 mill goes to D. Moore and Boyle... i'm absolutely all for it.

If Boyle takes $2.5M and Moore takes $1.8M, I'd be OK with slotting Ryan Bourque or Dan Carcillo.

Carcillo essentially made Dorsett nearly expendable until Dorsett was required due to depth depletion (thanks to his suspension).

If Boyle takes a slight hometown discount and Moore sticks then I think we are OK. Dorsett is the least driving of those three players

When I say dismantling I am assuming we let Boyle walk, too.

The floor is 51 million. Teams like Icelandia and Florida need to spend double digits just to reach it.

Guaranteed Richards ends up with a floor team.

Anyone think maybe the savings, which is at most $800k, is going to Stralman?

I think .3 will go to Boyle and .5 will go to Stralman.

Although, if they sign those players to those increases we will clearly need to trade Brassard.

That's the only way I am OK with it.

There wasn't a big difference in the quality between Boyle-Moore-Dorsett and Boyle-Moore-Carcillo.

For me, that indicates that the other two were the staple of the line.

So let's sign them both. I'll be happy then. :)

I've agreed, the only guy right now that I'm iffy on bringing back is Pouliot. I would be thrilled if the rest of the team stayed including Carcillo on the wing.

No we don't. Not if we don't sign Stastny.

We have like 21.5 mill to spend?

2.5 for Boyle - projected (bump from 2.2 to 2.5)
1.5 for Moore - projected
4.5 for Stralman - projected (bump from 4 to 4.5)
4.1 for Zucc - projected (and this is a team friendly projection)
2.3 for Kreider - projected (and this is a team friendly projection)
.9 for Miller - Confirmed (roster spot for 2c)
.8 for Carcillo - Projected
.9 for Offensive prospect - Confirmed (roster spot for 3 LW)

That's 17.5, roughly, without signing J. Moore to an extension and without signing Brassard to an extension.

You penny pinch on Kreider, knock 100K off of Moore, and that's 400K right there. Can sign Brassard and trade Moore.

Great deal. I found him mostly useless while he was here. Although he played really well during the playoffs. I think this was a perfect sell high trade.

All 1.6 million of them?

No they won't.

Wasn't it already mentioned that the Rangers plan didn't involve signing or trading for a big money center?

Oh yeah it was.

They need a good C to replace richards and his name is not JT Miller. I'd sign stastny to a good conract in a heart beat. Of course that involves not resigning someone else too.

They obviously picked up the cap space for a reason its not like dorsett was bad here.
