You penny pinch on Kreider, knock 100K off of Moore, and that's 400K right there. Can sign Brassard and trade Moore.

Sather penny pinched on Hagelin, when the cap hadn't inflated to this amount. That's not proportional and their stats are damn near identical for this last year. 2.3 is penny pinching on Kreider.

You knock 100k off of Moore and 500k off of Kreider (hypothetically). You save 600k. And you trade J. Moore and in place you play Conor Allen at 900k salary.

16.9 + .9 = 17.8. And to make it to exactly 0$ in cap space, Brassard would have to accept a contract of about 3.7 mill, his QO, which a lot have already refuted that he'd accept the floor of a QO.

You'd either have to cut out Brassard or D. Moore if Boyle & Stralman are resigned.

The cap drop screwed Boston. Iginla might be available.

I'd rather spend 5 million on Iginla for two years thand 7/6 for Stastny.

Iginla can play RW with Brassard and MZA.

My plan is coming to fruition.

Dorsett moved for a pick.

Now Brassard+Skjei for Leddy+Morin
and Staal for ROR!

Do it!

Interesting idea. Who plays center?

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Hagelin-????-MSL
Iginla-Brassard-MZA
Skille-Moore-Maholtra

McDonagh-Girardi
Staal-Klein
Moore-Mcilrath/dan boyle?

youd have to move MZA to his off wing...havent seem him do that much, and he wasnt super effective when he did it with MSL.

Is this guy a good 4th liner?

He brings speed and works well on the boards. He's basically a decent forechecker. He wasn't on our pk, but has killed penalties before. Don't expect much offense. He'll fight guys and lose, not that fighting actually matters.

I'm very scared of what sather has up his sleeve right now. Prepare HF

I think this is just a consequence of the cap crunch. If they want to hold on to some of the UFAs they couldn't afford to pay a fourth liner $1.6 million.

Yeah, I get a feeling that Sather is going to make some huge moves in the next couple of days.

They do have a window to go for another Cup run or two. If they can keep some of the core, like MCD, Hank and Kreider...they can have a down year or two and then retool for the late years of Hank's contract...if he is still elite or close to being so...

Kesler staying out west helps.

I see someone being moved that none of us expected.

Sather probably has 2-3 years left and wants to get that ring.

Maybe I am wrong, but I think we are in for an unexpectedly exciting couple of days...

So Dale Weiss 2.0? Not bad.

When you think of how solid Brassard and MZA are at dump-and-chase and cycling, Iginla would be perfect for the slot.

But if that's the case, just resign Pouliot for cheaper.

The issue with him is he wants term, where Iginla just want to win a Cup right away.

I was overly impressed with Iginla this season and it wasn't for a contract. He wants a Cup so bad.

He mauled people everywhere and was immovable from the slot.

i dont disagree, he could be super effective. we could make the numbers work. i gotta run right now, gotta pic up the wife from the airport, but im sure someone will post a scenario where it fits easily.

youd have to assume Miller is on the 3rd line center though.

100% agree with this. Loved Iginla's game. I think he would be attracted to NYR. We have a solid foundation.

I'm not sure how he fits here under the cap without moving more depth...

He's also RW... we're loaded on RW... so Zucc or MSL will have to slide over.

idk... man this is killer
