I like the way our 4th line was constructed last year. Good forecheckers, solid defensively, and probably our most consistent line when it came to board play and cycling the puck. Going with a small, finesse-type 4th line would not be a good matchup for other team's 4th lines and makes our offense even more one-dimensional and redundant.

i probably should have said that the reason i wouldnt be shcoked if they went with a kid 4th line is because i just have this gut feeling the rangers are going to make a big move...bring in another big time player, and then fill out the roster with kids/super cheap parts.

I agree. I think Stastny is on his way here.

I've actually thought that for a few days.

Stastny. Resign a few key guys. Get another key FA. The rest of the roster will be filled w/ kids and reclamation projects on the cheap.

I like to think Sather has learned his lesson on that one.

Unless you see Brassard dealt for a kid on an ELC, I'll say we're still not looking at Stastny. Clearing some cash on the 4th line when we have better 4th liners like Moore we're trying to sign makes more sense.

Besides, Miller and Fast are skill players. You do them an injustice by playing them on a 4th line with no PP time.

Bourque is a smurf. A rookie smurf. And you want to have him matched against Malkin, Giroux, Tavares, Staal and Johansen?

No thanks.

Vet 4th line helps team make first SCF in 20 years and people want to replace them with rookies. Old rookies too.

I guess I've heard it all.

“@DarrenDreger: Salary cap for 2014-2015. Cap is at $69. Lower Limit is $51 million.”

“@aaronward_nhl: Growth factor was at $68M,new TV money brought in a year early would raise it to $70M so both parties split the difference at $69M. #TSN”

I hate this trade.

They got two solid seasons out of Dorsett as a throw-in in the Gaborik trade.

The one concern is team tougness. Carcillo is a loose cannon but more of an agitator.

They need somebody to fight. Dorsett was a tremendous teammate.

Still, they need assets.

i think you need to realize that saying "i wouldnt be shocked" isnt the same thing as saying "this is what i want to happen".

Statsny also said he will not accept any offer below 6.6 million/per year according to Bob McKenzie on the TSN panel...

:help:

Yep. We just dismantled the best 4th line in the league.

Typical ******** turnover. Will **** us next season.

D. Moore & Boyle were what drove that line, though. Until we officially lose them, I'm not too worried about dismantling the line. If the extra .8 mill goes to D. Moore and Boyle... i'm absolutely all for it.
