I know very little about Gurianov and haven't caught a game with him in the lineup yet. What is his ceiling guys? Is this a possible steal?

Oh i like him a lot. Just need to put it all together. Will it ever happens? Maybe. He would not be the first to make it in his mid 20s. Nichushkin?? Would love it.

Guys go take a peak at the Stars board before you make fools of yourselves. Hes a known quantity, and hes just not good. Not every player we get is a steal. Blind homerism is just as bad blind hate.

The hope is that he can establish himself as a bottom 6 offensive specialist that brings speed and size.

I think I'll take MSL's approach and let my eyes see what we got before letting emotionally biased fans taint my perception. So far he has looked fantastic.

Good start so far, beautiful goal last night and he easily could've had a goal of 2 in his first game too.

If he keeps it up and we sign him this summer then what do we expect our top 6 to look like at the start of next year? Some combination of Guri, Suzuki, Caufield, Slaf, Dach, Anderson?

Suzuki-Caufield
PLD-Dach

What I hope for Gurianov is a middle six player with pp time.

So I would say the two disponible spots on the first two lines will be covered by players like Guri, Anderson, Farrell, RHP (maybe) and Slaf (maybe).

If we do swing for the fences and land PLD this summer without giving up Dach I'd like to see us move him back to the wing too. He had his strongest stretch of games by far while he was playing wing on the top line.

PLD and Dach can both play both positions so we would see what's the best option as the season goes.

I think we need to keep RHP and Anderson together! Anderson's recent coming out party happened the second he was put with RHP. And the usually inconsistent Anderson hasn't taken his foot off the gas for a second since!

But! IF Monahan can recover from his injury, we can start to talk about a top 9 with the players you mentioned, plus Monahan, RHP and sean Farrell, or Dvo on the wing until he's moved.

I know it’s very premature 2GP into his tenure as a Hab…..I can’t help but feel Gurianov is going to really flourish under MSL.

And bemoaned the acquisition of Matheson.
Yes I was guilty of that. I didn't like what I saw of him in Florida. Hadn't seen his progress in Pittsburgh.

The great thing is, he's continuing to progress. He's much better now than he was at the start of the season. He himself said he likes the way his game is progressing, but he still thinks he has a lot progress yet to make. I agree. If he can still make his uncanny fancy plays without turning the puck over, or pick his spots for them better, look out!

Any chance he plays on the 1st PP with that shot? Bueller?
It would mean one of CC or Suzuki wouldn't be on the half wall... but yeah for the rest of the season, and especially now that TDL has passed, maybe he takes Hoffman's spot.
