Kiss of death, watch Kent trade his ass in a PLD package this summer 😏

Guri have everything to succeed and finally have the opportunity to produce. Let's hope he finish the season strong playing with slick Nick.
They won’t trade for Dubois lol.

Big Frank in '71 playoffs against Boston. I had to doublecheck Gurianov was wearing 25, for a second I thought it was 27.

Another guy who wore 27 for Montreal could do that too.

Back when kovalev played for the rangers, Keenan kept kovalev out for a shift that lasted for several minutes. It was his way of punishing kovalev for taking too many long shifts.

Anyways, at the end this extended shift, kovalev blasted a beautiful slapshot top corner coming down the wing.

You know who reminds me of Kovalev sometimes, when he's stick handling in traffic: Armia :) :) :)

The two couldn't be more different though.

He now has 3 goals in 8 games with the Habs. He had 2 in 43 games with Dallas.

MSL said there's something there with Gurianov and that he looks forward to digging into his game with Gurianov. I look forward to seeing the result.

MSL has done wonders with Josh Anderson. But one key with Josh Anderson has been getting him the right linemates, in particular RHP. Gurianov will also need the right linemate. That may be Slaf, who has more grit to his game and is a good passer. Maybe one day we see: Slaf - Dach - Gurianov or Farrell - Dach/Dvo/good 3c - Gurianov.

I'd like to see
Slaf - Suzuki - Gurianov
CC - Dach - ??
Anderson - Dvo - RHP

If Slaf & Guri can have productive offseasons & a great camp, there could be just enough progression in their respective games to be trusted with the 15-16min of ES time theyd need to play next to our best C.

It's a big IF, but an enticing one. The size, speed & skill at both wings could give slick nick more to work with offensively than he's ever had.

Heineman, Farrell, Roy & Ylonen can battle it out with Hoff, Gally for that last top 6 wing spot unless Hughes takes a shot at a trade or ufa upgrades

He's got 8 hits and 3 blocks, so he's doing the little things away from the puck.

I'd say so far he's worth a more in depth look for next season.

I'm also basing that off the Habs not transitioning to being a fully competitive team, so there will be spots for long shots

He is what he is at this point. I doubt he'll ever be a ''system first'' type but I can live with a couple of those on my team, as long as they produce. I'll feel even better about him if/when Hoffman and Drouin are gone though, as ultimately I do want a team that will be hard to play against.

Personally, I don't think he is done maturing just yet. There are lots of NHL players that improve their games from 25-30 range. MSL does have something to work with there and I can see him improving his game over time with us.

Yeah I was thinking Slaf and Gurianov. But I was then also thinking Farrell and Gurianov might work as Slaf may be the best candidate to play with Caufield.

So my wing pairs without the washed up vets holding them back would be:
Caufield - Slaf
RHP - Anderson
Farrell - Gurianov
Heineman - Ylonen

Though he is not as talented, I would be ecstatic if he could becomes our Nichushkin.

Let's hope it's just a case where Dallas was a team more interested in making the playoffs than developing.

Montreal's primary focus is focusing on development, and maybe Gurianov will get the extra attention he may not have been getting in Dallas.

I like how hard he works but he can improve in the eye test in terms of competing for pucks and maintaining puck possession. In terms of playing in a deeper top 9 with consistent centers, I do see him scoring a fair amount of goals with his shot/skating. He's not soft but he has been moved off the puck at times.

I see some potential there if he can figure out his role and how to use his strengths better. That will depend on if he is playing with Suzuki or with guys like Drouin/Dvorak. Too bad Dach in injured, I'd like to see how he would look with Dach as well.

He is a bit on the dangerous side in open space with his shot. I do like guys who have shot/skating/size. I value him more than I do with someone like Pitlick

It's a solid return for Dadonov IMO. Much better than I expected. Gurianov makes a guy like Pitlick expendable. In terms of middle 6 or bottom 6, I like Gurianov's ability to score with his shot and his skating is impressive
