BS. It will start the second the coach is announced.
Well, one thing can be noted, that is that the bitching about the bitching about the coach started before the bitching about the coach this time around!

BS. It will start the second the coach is announced.
Keenan had more to do with Keenan than karma.I'm guessing Martin was laid off for a clean slate. I hope the new coach will consider bringing him back though. He was a panacea for our defense this year. But perhaps the new coach can do better so <shrug>
The Rangers have really not had any karma with coaching. Keenan wins the cup, immediately bounces. I think Torts is the only bonafide top coach we've had in ages (and he should have been promoted over freaking Ron Low!). AV made the finals with us and Vancouver but I cringe giving him a "top" coach title. DQ first time in NHL. I think Colin Campbell got his first HC gig after Keenan bounced. An out of touch John Muckler, hand written application disaster Bryan Trottier, confused Ron Low. Tom Renney wasn't too bad. Like DQ, I think he served his purpose. Like Panarin, Renney had Jagr.
Babcock is a nightmare imo. Worst case scenario along with Roy. Narcissistic bully who rode multiple hall of fame players into a good reputation
I like the job Martin did, but as the season wore on, it became apparent that Lindgren-Fox was our only pair that's consistently good.
I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that most coaches get that result.
—Outside of our division, many succesfull teams plays a man-man defense and many coaches out there are clear man-man guys. Babcock is one, Bruce B another. Do we really want to go back to that? It’s a minus for me.
That's probably their primary trade chip anyway.
As uncomfortable as that might be for some fans.
Hajek is one I was right about early, not that I wanted to be.Agreed, our third D pairing was a total disaster and nothing DQ or Martin should get blamed for.
Got to say, Hajak is one of the biggest disappointments for me.
I don’t know honestly but I get the sense his aptitude is more a result of having a handful of the best players ever for their peaks. He went to Toronto, didn’t do much and was firedBut would he make our kids better and have us play better as a team?
Probably. At the same time, we should get the best guy for the job, not just someone that would be better than whomever he replaces.
Roy’s a loon. We need character and leaders on the ice and in the room, he’s the opposite. Just compounds an issue that’s already thereHartley and Roy are proven winners and have ties to Drury.
I'd welcome them both. Roy wanting to get back into the NHL, has won in the Q and experience with youngins...
Hartley Roy would be a good start to a coaching staff IMO.
Ditto on Hajek . Big believer in some dmen Needing to take time to really develop but just don’t see it in his game like we saw in the world juniors.Agreed, our third D pairing was a total disaster and nothing DQ or Martin should get blamed for.

Agreed What’s the fascination with Roy?Roy’s a loon. We need character and leaders on the ice and in the room, he’s the opposite. Just compounds an issue that’s already there
I don’t know honestly but I bet the sense his aptitude is more a result of having a handful of the best players every for their peaks. He went to Toronto, didn’t do much and was fired
So seravelli has Tocchet Gallant and Torts as the favorites

The challenge with someone like Babcock is that his MO coming in is that he needs players closer to their peak in order to make the most of his approach. He's not going to have that here.
We're not necessarily looking at a revolution here. Even with trades and moves, this is still going to be a VERY young team. That doesn't necessarily play to the strengths of quite a few names we see out there.
Two of three I can see.
Gallant is seen as a strong candidate for Seattle in many circles.
He's a fiery personality. Something we desperately need. He's been coaching kids for a while. I'm also talking about an assistant, not the head coach.
