Yeah thats why i wrote pre-draft...
today sure fans will support him. They were just not supporting him pre-draft as per poll on home board few days before draft.
It was a poll. A poll doesn’t have anything to do with “support”, it’s just a measure of what player the fans would like to see drafted. Why would anyone support a player that’s not drafted by your team? Reinbacher was the pick and now most of us will throw our support behind him

a lot of people were punking this pick and saying that he isnt big enough to play the style he plays,,

well NHL scout Grant McCagg has some information for you

its very realistic that he will grow another 2-3 inches and put on a lot of weight,, when we have our Chris Pronger im sure no one is going to be worrying about missing out on a bad teammate like Michkov who allegedly has kicked teammates and doesnt listen to veteran leaders

Everyone is still punking this pick. Habs fans just trying to talk themselves into it.

Michkov >>>> Reinbacher
Leonard >> Reinbacher
Benson >> Reinbacher

This doesn't even look like a highlight

Always nice to see smug know it all people like you who assume they know everything. Get off your high horse and wait a couple years and see who progresses more.

Only young player to be same offensive as Reinbacher in same league is Josi. Reinbacher >Michkov and I don’t like habs.

Tolvanen was already an NHL drafted player his first year in the KHL.
Late April vs. early December birthday, yes.

Therefore Tolvanen had 19+17=36 points in 49 KHL games while Michkov has 11+14=25 in 43 games so far. Obviously also the league overall was quite a bit better when Tolvanen was there.

So then let’s see what Michkov is at this season. You acknowledge there’s no exact comparison due to one being a late birthday and the other an early birthday. I suspect Michkov will outscore 36 points in 49 games this season.

Sounds like the same copium every fan of every team who ever made a smooth brained decision on draft day.

Your "Wait a few years!!" Rhethoric will switch to "he's bad because of the head coach, he benched him once for no apparent reason!!!!" or "They graduated him a little bit too quickly so obviously now he's marked for life and will suck forever, it's on the GM!"

The best players on draft day are not necessarily those who end up with the best careers, but when you fail to pick the best player at your spot on draft day, do you even deserve him to be worth his pick or are you just relying on pure luck and divine intervention to improve your team?

It's not the first time the Habs do this, and it turned out to be a failure every single time so far. How are you expecting better results now?

You don't get richer by trading 5 quarters for a dollar everytime. Habs might as well trade all of their picks away for established talent and I bet you my house their team would be better than they've been. It's completely mind blowing how terribly awful they've been at drafting through MULTIPLE REGIMES and you still find glass half full types calling for patience.

For me it's not glass half full, the Habs just took the better prospect. I had Reinbacher ahead. I wish I was a betting man with all these overconfident Michkov fans seemingly willing to give 100 to 1 odds in favor of their guy becoming the better player.

How would you determine who the better player is? They play different positions, with different responsibilities.

Better currently you mean? Reinbacher looks far more NHL ready to my eyes. Bigger faster stronger, plays a mature system game, closes gaps quickly and safely, looks a lot more ready compared to last year's top D Jiricek and Nemec (when they were drafted). Michkov hasn't even cracked the SKA lineup yet and would be a major liability in the NHL.

If you're asking about better long term there's obviously much more to weigh out and there's no formula you can use for it.

Can already smell the Flyer and Habs fans going to each others player prospect thread and trolling based off which prospect does better next season.
I don't think so. The Flyers are playing with house money since Michkov fell to them. It would be different if these teams traded and the Flyers moved into 5 to draft Michkov with the Habs pick. Canadiens fans are torn about passing on Michkov -- this is between them -- the Flyers, or Flyers fans, have nothing to do with it.

There's a notable lack of young talent drafted out of the NL, Matthews being the exception. So any comparisons within that league ring a little hollow.
All the best Swiss forwards played elsewhere at Reinbacher's age (Fiala, Meier, Hischer, Niederreiter, Kurashev).
And other than Josi 15 years ago, who are the good young defensemen drafted out of the NL? We're talking the likes of Siegenthaler, Moser (overrager), Berni and Geisser here.

Seider was mid to high teens on all lists. He went 6 and things worked out. Reinbacher also wasn’t going lower than 6 to Arizona. I guess their list was bad too.

Funny that I came here to say that although he did have a lot of predraft talk in these parts if he gets draft by Arizona instead would there even be 50% of the posts for him since draft day, 40%, 30%?
