HuGo always wanted Reinbacher, they wanted to extract value from either Philly or Washington because they both wanted Michkov badly. Arizona didn't want Michkov and they wanted Reinbacher too. Habs couldn't trade back to get value from #5/Michkov from Philly or Washington (Arizona woulda picked Reinbacher) so they just picked their guy. That's all there is to it.

problem is weakness everywhere else: Kovacevic 25, Matheson 29, Edmunsen 30 and Savard 32.

There is a huge 23-28 gap.

Cant go to war in 3 yrs with only 21-25 yrs old guys.

Weakness? Matheson was terrific for us once he hit his stride with us. Kovacevic has been a solid 3rd pairing RD for us, especially as a Rookie. Edmundson has yes been basically permanently on our IRL but is now supposedly healthy and will be traded shortly. Also Savard has been a great leader for our young D core.

I expect that by the time MTL is a contender only Kovacevic will be around.

Seems a lot of people think they missed out on Michkov. Personally I have a feeling Leonard ends up being the guy they shouldn't have passed on. Then again, I could be wrong and Reinbacher ends up being the next Larry Robinson. I certainly hope so. Time will tell.

the kid is not only good at hockey but hes very smart too,, sam Cosentino said that this kid is in school and working a full time job as a head hunter,, meanwhile michkov is deciding if he even wants to play in north america

id rather have the kid who has a head on his shoulders and can work within a successful organization over a kid with no ambition
