Not a fair thread concept IMO. Could anyone really be blamed for having doubt and anxiety given the last 19 years? No one should have to eat crow. Moving forward is different though.

Oh come on now, there were many people saying we would never win a series until Dubas was gone or that the series was over after we lost game one or that the series was over after we lost game 5 etc., don't you think those people should eat a bit of crow? Not even a small spoonful?

It's all in good fun, take it in the spirit in which it was intended. It's a beautiful day, let's all put our differences of opinion aside and celebrate the fact that today is a good day to be a Leaf fan, in fact it's the best day for that in a very, very long time.

The thing is many said you can't just try the same thing over and over again and expect the failures to end.

After last season people said there has to be changes, but they were very minor, so again Dubas running the same failure over again. (Samsonov wasn't really seen as a huge deal)

Then the trades happened.

Dubas didn't run the same thing over again hope the result was different.

Major changes were made and those changes played a part in getting to round 2.

So criticism at the time was warranted.

Yes, criticism was warranted. I think most people were very unhappy with first round exits. We would criticize the stars, the coach, the GM, the goalies...all warranted.

We also looked at the progress, the prospects and cap management, and the fact that winning teams take time and patience to build and believed that keeping Shanny, Dubas, Keefe and the stars was a sensible approach.

Those eating crow are the ones that wanted to clean house, not those that criticized at certain points along the way.

The point is, it shouldn’t have taken this long to win a round. I’m elated that they did, but I also get why people are cautious about this team. There is no eating crow in my opinion.

There is a noted difference between people who are cautious, who post criticism about stuff, who also post happy things when the leafs win vs people who never have a positive thing to say about the team. Who want to gut the team every chance they get. The misery is palatable. Being a fan of success is a lot easier to understand than being a fan of failure.

We are all passionate Leafs fans but sometime, being negative after each loss is a bit much. How many here posted, they will lose and choke… after Game 1 and Game 5 then break down the game and stated Leafs got no chance…. When the playoffs is not even over. I can understand if they lose Game 6 with such comments but not Game 1 and 5

This board is full of toxic posts by folks who think they know what’s better for the Leafs but have no say or control to change anything.
