I don't think I'm guilty of all on your list but I have certainly levied criticism their way. The loss to the Habs in particular was difficult to get over. Some draft decisions, the cap, the losing, the soft play, the ridicule, etc.... I've remained quietly confident about some things, openly questioning on others. But now??

I don’t think it’s directed to people who are genuine and occasionally negative. There’s a group of people here who not only are negative they seem happy when they lose because it proves them right.
It’s much easier to bet on failure, most teams will fail.

Been a half-glass poster for the larger majority of my time here. However, there are limits. I'm glad Reilly took this first round by the horns. But there were major, undeniable traits our club repeated and repeated that given better options, you always choose.
I'm no "bandwagoner". I'm a die-hard of the most tried and tested. I'm of a vintage that wasn't born while they had Cups, but not to long after their last one. So there's a group of like that haven't known success yet kept hoping against hope.
For me, the connection just switched when our group couldn't win on Salming's Night. Water under the bridge and as I've mentioned in our GDTs, I think the big man's with us.
Been eating humble pie for decades OP. Sick of it. Not about to eat it here amongst the faithful. But I am grateful that this team finally pushed and that we caught some breaks somehow, some way.
Had all the humility any fanbase can take. Time for some dignity.
On to the Panthers.

I'm acting like we won a playoff series, which is something that hundreds of posts said would never happen with this core/coach/GM.
I think 99.99% of people here have bitched about the team from time to time, that's not who this thread is about.

But that thread implied that we had no chance at winning the cup. But we do, don't we? I just checked the betting lines and the first site I looked has the Leafs as the cup favorites now. Maybe we'll win, maybe we won't but saying this team "can't win" was always really dumb.

One thing I've said all season is Holl sucks and Liljegren/Sandin are potential top pairing dmen that Keefe isn't giving opportunities to.
My opinion still stands on that. Holl is atrocious and should not be in the NHL on a nightly basis, and Keefe is ruining the development of Liljegren.

For real - It's funny cuz I remember so many threads/posts on both of those guys at the end of the regular season just absolutely shitting on them for meaningless regular season games.
No crow for me, I’m a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, each and every year. Some years are good, some bad, but I back my team. I’m liking this year’s version. GLG!

It sure is! It seems like there's even a decent chance of an all Canadian final, that would be so amazing. I've always been rooting for McDavid, it's just so bad for hockey to have it's best player never going deep in the playoffs.
Absolutely! I read so many posts talking about how good the team was defensively when Rielly was out, then he came back and we were worse and obviously it was because of him so we'd be a better team if we would only just take Rielly out of the lineup. Not just whining either, some of the stuff posted about these guys was just downright insulting on a personal level and that's why I included them in the OP:

All you who said that Morgan Rielly is a mediocre hockey player and our team is better without him, have a seat at the table.
Rielly performance in the regular season warranted it.
Tavares has been streaky. Outside of game #2 he was invisible. He needs to step it up in round #2.

I said it a while ago - best Leaf team I've ever seen. That's just on paper though, can they show it on the ice is the big question. So far so good, but I'm also quite aware that with just ordinary goaltending, our season would be over already. We could absolutely win the cup, but we could also lose the next round to Florida. I hope our guys are working hard on fixing the PP today and come out ready to play tomorrow, the Panthers are no joke!

I'm glad they won one series-clinching game after losing 11 in a row. If they can manage another 2-3, I'll eat all the crow you want.

JT's been good, I'm happy with the way he's played and I'd be happy with more of the same against Florida. I mean you could always be better I guess, but it's not like he's been so mediocre that I'd say he "needs to step it up". JMHO.
