Yes, Berube will win coach of the year this season.
That isnt happening

Barely any of your takes are ever right, and Berube has 0 going for him to win the Adams

Has the same team/core as keefe

No major injuries to the core which he would have to help overcome

No internal issues his coaching will have to overcome

Berube also isnt a good enough coach or the team good enough team to with this division.

The Jets coach will run away with Adams unless the Caps coach can get the Caps a top 2 spot in Metro

I'm not sure how you're predicting no major injuries, but that is irrelevant. He isn't going to win solely because of what the Leafs do. Toronto will be a 105-110 point team, but there will be a bunch of teams with that number of points. Berube will win because the hockey media loves him, and the Leafs will have a successful enough season that voters will give it to him absent a ridiculous record-breaking season from another team (i.e., Boston a couple of seasons ago). These awards are glorified popularity contests.

The hockey media wont vote for a coach with little to no adversity as Adams with only 105-110 pt season

That may not win the division at 105 pts. There are and will be better coaches eith better records and narratives who are ahead of him

For now he needs to actually do some coaching and snap this 2 game embarrassing loss streak.

Keefe has 115 and 110 pt seasons and wasnt even a finalist. Berube wont be either

So far Berube yelling at the team seems to have done nothing and I think its because the core has no heart to appeal to, just a bunch of professionals who clock in clock out.

Nothing will change this season. Our team is overrated every year, and isn't capable as constructed to achieve anything more than making the playoffs and disappointment afterwards.

vs STL, the Leafs quit. If they lost that game 3-2 and competed, its not a big deal. Matthews especially didnt show up for the coach vs his old team, appears to be a shot at Berube already.
Wel then mathews needs to grow up .
Because it hasn't been working the other way
Be a captain and lead.

I agree with the comments about the hockey media being in love with Berube. They gave him credit for being a no nonsense, lay the law down before he even did anything . All that matters is how he treats Matthews and Marner and he’s shown so far he’s terrified of upsetting them. If he wants to get their attention he needs to do something they won’t like….like splitting them up or dividing up the PP. Instead he keeps them glued together no matter what happens.

I’m very disappointed with Berube so far he is doing things exactly the same as Keefe . Same garbage PP same Matthews and Marner, same PK personal and is not holding the players accountable.
I think he is losing the power struggle against the Muskoka 5

I think he is going to lose the room in record time. They either blow up the party or this teams done. Going to repeat this for days. JT MR and MM need to get shopped.

JT and MR look like they are done with the team tbh. That level of care is a joke.

MM is a special case and not sure how to deal with it.

Even then, I can see that there are other problems that are recent and need addressing, even if you could magically send JT/MM/MR packing:
-the hiring of Marc Savard
-handing out fat contracts to scrubs by Tre who has been trying to dump them without success
-naming the wrong Captain
-hiring of Pelley
-not firing Shanny
The problems here run deep, no matter how many regular season points they get

I am with you on everything you mentioned.

Yep dead on correct .. not enough dogs who want to hunt on this squad in da core positions and it starts and ends with Matty and Rielly last night in OT

The fact Berube sounds like Keefe right now means somethings up with the boys. They must be working their asses off but are sensitive or nervous or some kind of mental issues. It's the only thing that makes sense.

Coaching is overrated

Yes, Berube will win coach of the year this season.
Coaches that take over 105 point teams and keep the points consistent don't typically win jack squat. Far likelier that a coach on a bottom feeder/middle of the pack team that sees a big point improvement or a team that succeeded despite injuries to their key players wins.

Again, I don't disagree, as that is the type of coach that usually wins. My argument here, however, is that Berube will win because the hockey media is in love with the guy. I appreciate that no one believes it after a whopping three losses in a row, but the Leafs will finish top-5 in the league, and their record combined with how much the media loves this guy will result in him winning the award. It may not even necessarily be deserved, but that isn't how these awards are generally chosen anyway.

Love the confidence and conviction. Bookmarked for future discussion.

Who is supposed to be captain?

We don't have a real one on the team. Never seen anyone step up to the level of a Clark, Sundin, Douggie, Roberts etc. Haven't had an elite leader in years.

Sometimes I think Willy would make a great captain but then I watch him and he would just make a better A than Marner.
