They wouldn't speed up the development if they didn't get a Get out of jail free card. I still thing the government is opening itself up to lawsuits by not following proper protocol.
I completely agree. I'm retired and live in the country and not much has changed in my life other than grocery shopping and not being able to find a washroom to use on car and motorcycle rides. Since I'm not in a high risk category I will not be getting the vaccine anytime soon. I've read that between 1 and 2 year timeline will show if the vaccine has any side effects, but this is from the side opposed to the vaccine so take it with a grain of salt. Anyone who isn't concerned with possible side effects should talk to a thalidomide survivor, not being negative, but s**t happens, being informed before making a decision is always prudent imo.

Roughly 50% of Cdn folks will take AZ and 50% of Cdn folks won't take AZ ... for me when CDC says phase 3 data is incomplete and then request a new phase 3 done in USA it says all there needs to say ... CDC has screwed around with vaccines and labs forever ... Health Canada has not even been in da vaccine business since 1979 ... so I have ZERO trust for Health Canada in any kind of vaccine review ... sorry playing around in an Ottawa UNI lab for sh*ts and giggles does not work for me ... have you been in CDC buildings complex in Atlanta? It is very impressive. 10,000 people working 247.

Covid is old news. Get ready for the next big thing coming shortly. And them the one after that, and the one after that....and so on.....

Remember the date May 1st....the push will be on. The restrictions coming will make Covid look like shangri la. They are not even bothering with any back stories, as Covid proved that most people don't need one they will just do what the TV, radio, and newspapers tell them to do.

Maybe someone should tell the congressman and yourself, Ebola isn't air-borne, Ebola is spread by direct contact with blood or other body fluids (such as: vomit, diarrhea, urine, breast milk, sweat, semen) of an infected person.

Sure but obesity is a decision to forgo the single biggest way to eliminate heart disease and a myriad of other problems. So I say if someone wants to deny me healthcare for not getting a covid vaccine, I want to know their BMI so I can make preachy theoretical decisions on their healthcare.

Don't worry, there will be an ICU bed for you.

Not in Ontario my friend, read up on state of health care in Ontario, it is brutal for ICU ... much better off like double on east coast ... Ontario is bottom of barrow for health care in Canada ... and Canada is 3rd world for health care in OECD

Pop quiz:
Bank of Canada is:
1. a Ministry of Finance controlled subsection owned by the Government of Canada
2. a publicly traded corporation owned by many shareholders
3. a private corporation owned by a few individuals

You'd probably have trouble finding the specific details of the right answer (3).

Again I'll post this even more frightening graph to do with money creation in the U.S. :

When I see that, I don't even know what to do against the future implications of it. Buy cryptocurrency? Buy real estate? Start hoarding canned food? Learn how to live in the woods?

It became entertainment when news divisions became profit centres 30 or so years ago. Before that, news divisions had the freedom to run at a loss.
It's not just mainstream that's the issue. The underground guys like the Republic and the Guardian is the same.

IMO it's due to both of them why we have become so devided.

Be a good boy and keep it in your savings account, our "pre-loaded stimulus" has to come from somewhere.

"Research doesn't back vaccine dose delay for seniors, Canada's chief science adviser says"

Research doesn't back vaccine dose delay for seniors, Canada's chief science adviser says

So Tam and our health minister say waiting 4 months is OK but our chief science advisor says no.

But I was told to listen to the experts and that the science is settled. What gives? My wife's a front line worker by the way and is on the 4 month waiting list for her second shot. Kinda hits close to home.

Sorry, not letting this go. Where are the people mocking others for being even slightly skeptical about some of the expert advice? It's all over the news now. I think this deserves an answer.

Well when most get vaccinated, beds should open up for those who don't want or can't take vaccine.
Sorry about the poor leadership in Ontario.

Does that mean we can trust mainstream media again

Seizing on debate surrounding the "what's the best way to implement solution x" as justification for skepticism on the consensus "x is good and we should do it" isn't nearly the gotcha you think it is.

No but it's our leading scientist they're quoting. Who do we trust? Tam? The media? The poster above that mocked someone for getting a C in grade 10 science? Seems like a legitimate question in my mind.

Not sure what is so taboo about putting yourself first. You’re saying it as if it is an insult lol. I think it’s completely natural for everyone to have that mindset for themselves and their families. Most people just want to be left alone.

You’re suggesting vaccinated people continue to wear masks and not visit their friends/family. Basically, continue to live their lives like caged animals because there is a fraction of a percent chance that they may not be completely immune and/or they’re still able to transmit the virus to others. Ya sorry, you can do that if you want, but that is completely ridiculous.

I think that you're missing the point.
Vaccines in general are only 95% effective. That means that you and or your elderly parents / friends might have had the vaccine but it doesn't work. If you don't get the vaccine you might be infecting people who have had the vaccine.

The idea is for everyone to get the vaccine then 95% of us will be vaccinated and we will have herd immunity. The guy you responded to explained it very clearly.

Just because your elderly parents got the vaccine, it doesn't mean that it worked on them.

So do you think my wife should have gotten her second dose within 21 days or not? And how much do you trust the rest of the advice when you read something like this?

Maybe. Maybe waiting leads to a slight drop in personal efficacy. But maybe that drop in efficacy is offset by the societal benefit of getting more people 1 shot level protection ASAP. Maybe that efficacy drop is limited to the oldest among us, those that have already been vaccinated.

Lots of maybe's, not among them is "maybe this debate over how to best rollout means that it's not safe at all." It's a ridiculous leap.

I didn't mock someone for getting a C in grade 10 science, I mocked the idea of someone with limited to no scientific or medical education making decisions contrary to scientific and medical consensus being a "lifestyle"

Speaking of efficacy, this story came out today:

3 Fully Vaccinated People Catch Covid-19 Coronavirus, Says Hawaii DOH

3 Fully Vaccinated People Catch Covid-19 Coronavirus, Says Hawaii DOH
That's always been known that can and probably will happen. Same as the flu shot. The thing they are saying is that the vaccine drops hospilizations and lessens how severe your symptoms are.

By doing that we can then live with Covid and get back to somewhat a normal life.

You failed your own pop quiz. The Bank of Canada is a Crown Corporation not a privately owned corporation.
