Huh. That's odd.

We could just let this run it's course and go back to life as it was before.

We could also let politicians control the reporting data to manipulate it what ever way they want. :)

A virus that is spread with human to human contact, you increase human to human contact and the numbers go down... hmmmmmm something is not quite right but I cant quite .... hmmmm

You can disagree with him on the science if you want... but it's unfair to call him a "grifter". He's also not the only person saying this kind of stuff. Check out this article in Nature basically saying the same stuff he's saying:

Five reasons why COVID herd immunity is probably impossible

There’s another problem to contend with as immunity grows in a population, Ferrari says. Higher rates of immunity can create selective pressure, which would favour variants that are able to infect people who have been immunized. Vaccinating quickly and thoroughly can prevent a new variant from gaining a foothold. But again, the unevenness of vaccine roll-outs creates a challenge, Ferrari says. “You’ve got a fair bit of immunity, but you still have a fair bit of disease, and you’re stuck in the middle.” Vaccines will almost inevitably create new evolutionary pressures that produce variants, which is a good reason to build infrastructure and processes to monitor for them, he adds.

So nature is also saying the same thing... mainly that vaccines will not result in herd immunity, and that the vaccines will put pressure on the virus to mutate to become vaccine resistant. Is Nature also a grifter publication? They're essentially saying the same thing as Geert, just a few weeks later.

That's not really what that article or quote is saying. What it is saying is that as long as there is an unevenness in vaccine rollout globally and that people are unvaccinated and able to carry covid the odds that we develop more varients increase including ones which may be resistant to our current vaccines.

This is why we need to ramp up vaccinations and also still maintain some form of restrictions until cases are driven down so we can reduce the amount of carriers and decrease the likelihood of new varients emerging

Considering the government has 100% control of our health outcomes - including potentially forcing people to or effectively forcing people to take a vaccine - I'd say they are an appropriate target of discussion as it pertains to Covid.
Does anything anyone on here posts "help" in any manner? No.
No it doesn't help. It gets tiring reading the same arguments over and over and over. It's been a year, get over it and live your life.

How many times have you contacted your MP, MPP or the Prime Ministers office to voice your concerns?

Ex CDC director and a leading virologist saying publicly what I said from start this virus came from Wuhan lab that was known to be working on developing a better coronavirus in cultures .. he says da chances of bat to human transmission in wet market is so highly unlikely and improbable ... he says it will eventually be proven by science even if politics of WHO keeps trying to move it away from da truth because of its connections to China in leadership positions at WHO ... China is working its *rse off trying to change da narrative because they don't want to pay da TRILLIONS in DAMAGES that it will be responsible for as it runs/owns da lab ... now keep in mind no one, including da commies, wanted this virus to get out of da lab which he states too but it occurs more frequently than a lot of us think even these highest end securest labs ..

Can you post a link to this?

I'm also curious as to why he's the ex-CDC director.

Can you tell me what the upside is from the government's perspective for enforcing "illegitimate" lockdowns?

I've never understood this. People calling it politics, but I can't imagine a worse political move than to cause the entire population financial stress if there wasn't legit science behind it.

Exactly. The government needs tax money for it to work. Having many people out of work doesn't help in getting tax money from them.

No I don't I control the world. Frankly I don't care anymore. In fact I find it entertaining watching others get SO WORKED up over all of this. It's down right hilarious.

Don't you want to continue our witty repartee some more? You were only making a little innocent joke about the lizard people, right? There were no deep implications about my intelligence and your superiority. You meant no malice, I'm sure. You're just not that good when it gets off script.

Dude what is your malfunction?

My MP is a do-nothing lifer with zero clout who goes to one picnic in the riding for an hour every two years, gets photos taken that are published in his next 4 newsletters. Our MPP isn't in the government right now, turns out that she's an ardent CRT follower who is backed by an intimidation mob. And sadly I voted for both of them because the alternatives seemed worse.

My MPP is a far left idiot that seems mostly concerned with trying to destroy my neighbourhood. My MP is a life long, entitled do-nothing mouthpiece for Trudeau and the soccer mom crowd. I suspect if I contacted them about covid, they'd probably try and put me on some sort of government list for not agreeing with their ideology.

5 years I would have thought that was a crazy thought but now not so much so. I hear some of their rhetoric. Some of these people in power are absolutely evil underneath the surface. BTW, I don't mean the people I'm having exchanges with in this thread, they just don't have the ability to think for themselves and are therefore triggered by others who don't submit to the orthodoxy.

I do have the ability to think for myself. Nothing they have done has affected me so why should I be up in arms over any of this. I got to go to my trailer last summer, had a vacation, stayed working the whole time.

Okay, you think for yourself. So here we go again: name one opinion you have that is outside the urban progressive orthodoxy that is presented by the corporate media.

Oh, I get it. The lockdown was easy for you (it was easy for me too other than the lack of exercise). Because it was easy for you, you find it difficult to empathise with those who it has affected and how it has impacted the long term direction of the society into authoritarianism. Why get all up in arms about something affecting other people? How could I be so stupid to think beyond how I'm personally impacted?
