Yeah for sure you are right ... makes total sense ... although not sure if you are from Burlington you would agree to it ... where is this new COVID hospital in Burlington?

Not sure where the new building is. But regardless of where, that really shouldn't affect local community spread IF people/staff in these hospitals are following the PPE/IPAC rules

I'm personally a little scared inside every time I need to see a patient with infectious symptoms. I'm so careful about putting on my gear and washing my hands. I know I'm not alone on that one and people in my hospital are taking PPE seriously

It is a massive sealed tent near Brant hospital designed for COVID only ... lets hope it works

This will be the reality. Will happen multiple times across the season. Especially in the states.

Players are still allowed to see their families throughout the season right?

If it was anything like the baseball and football seasons it certainly will.

I remember one game this year where Oklahoma State had 22 guys out.

Ontario government now starting to talk about instilling a curfew. Absolutely zero logic behind such a thing.

Crazy how Florida is operating as normal and its system is nowhere near collapse while we have draconian mandates here and it’s doom and gloom. Something isn’t right.

Maybe, just maybe, Vitamin D is a significant factor here like many have been saying for months now? Our leaders are too busy scratches their asses to even look into it.

I don't know if people realize this but Brampton and Mississauga have been doing this for weeks already ... probably why Halton got screwed over ... good news is we have opened a COVID hospital in Burlington now so assuming we are shipping da COVID cases there now ... wait a month and Burlington will be screwed over too

FYI: That field hospital has been open since May without a single patient. They are just accepting patients now and as you say, it's to admit people from other regions. No idea if this will affect our case count in Burl. We've already had a target on our backs ever since Peel and Hamilton were hard locked down (where do you think people went last month to shop, etc.)? It is what it is.

Looks like he will be "retiring" upon return.

Kind of a weird thing for me because I don't believe in some of the measures we're taking and I myself would have no problem travelling. But I follow Halton Police on Twitter and they have relentlessly been posting messages about staying at home, follow health expert guidance, etc. I think that's the difference: I'm not preaching to others about their covid habits. But anyone that is should be setting an example first. That's why so many leaders are being pilloried.

There's no doubt in my mind this is coming and there is no doubt in my mind it will have no effect.

I don't understand the curfew. Now everyone will just be out between time a and time b and everything will be more crowded.

Plus, who is going to enforce this? You can't waste the cops time having them pull everyone over and asking if the are going to work.

If you look at other areas of the world where they did this, they put in check points. Gives me chills just thinking about the whole thing. I can't stay awake past 10 so it's not like I'm affected it's just that there's no point.

From what I have read along with the curfew they are going back to restrictions that were in place back in March. It shouldn't be hard to enforce a curfew if nothing is open. Nobody should be out then.

It feels like this is inevitable now.

We can't do Wuhan here ... can you imagine you had fences around your city and at few exit/entry points you put da military and then you stopped all transit in/out and then you took over everyone phones for monitoring movement and then you said you could only go out for 1 hour a day .. and then you forced temp checks upon entering/exiting every building ... people here would rebel ... i mean it worked but people were dying in their homes and scared sh*tless .. hard to believe everything da Chinese were saying too i can't believe they could even enforce all those stupid measures

I mean softer check points. Pretty sure they had that in Australia - basically like a random RIDE stop asking what you're doing out. Also, I think you overestimate Canadians. We're very docile and compliant. I think it's coming and I think we'll as a whole just accept it. I may relocate to our property in Nova Scotia for a couple of months if this happens.

If they shut down construction like they did in March it will be a disaster. I've already had clients lose millions due to the previous lockdowns. Businesses of all sizes are teetering right now.

I have 2 jobs, one as baseball coach and I supplement that with doing construction. I was part of the crew that built the field hospitals in Burlington and Mississauga.

Even though construction is on, because of restrictions on both sports and construction this has been the worst financial year of my life.

The slope of their recent curve looks terrible. Give it some more time. They are not in a good position by any stretch of the imagination

OK, we'll see (you're probably right). Not my point though. My point is with everything California did, they are still likely the worst off state in the country. This virus does what it wants. You can delay it, you can mitigate it but in the end, it's going to pass through the population. Vaccines may be the answer but we're literally a year away from vaccinating our general population in Canada (what a frigging disaster) so I guess strap yourself in if that's the plan.

Sorry to hear it. I am not kidding I have several clients that have had their bank financing pulled due to delays caused by covid and they already invested millions of their personal finances into these projects. People tend to think of developers as rich but most are just regular people looking for somewhere to park their nest egg. Imagine paying a million bucks in consulting, permit and development charge fees just to have your project canceled and it was maybe half of all you had? Another round of construction shutdowns and I fear the worst. So far, my company has been unaffected and I strangely feel guilty about that. Probably won't last though if things keep going the way they are.

I think they are both in an equally shit position right now. California's population is double Florida's. I think the latter will be worse off in one month

I agree though. Vaccine is the answer. Lots of pain before then
