I'm looking forward to it, but I'm going to wait until it's on Netflix next month. I'm too cheap to pay extra for something I don't have to pay extra for.
There’s nothing wrong with your line of thinking. Netflix doesn’t release too many movies that I get excited for, so when they do (Knives Out sequel in this case) I wouldn’t pay more money to see it a month early either. I get Hisch13r’s reasoning too and understand the excitement/ theater experience.

I still enjoy the theatre experience. Maybe it’s because I’m old and blind and the big screen helps my aged eyes see anything.

Like many great shows now - the final episode isn't the climax. It's usually an ep or 2 before.

It depends on the TV show, but generally it is the last episode and sometimes the one before.

Now for books, yeah the climax is never right at the end for sure and then we get the denouement. But it isnt a great practice to have a full epsiode-ish denouement in televsion if the plan for it is to have multiple seasons

Playing through Nier Automata again since it came out for Switch. Man this game is incredible. I also forgot just how fanservicy it can be

This will be the first playthrough after completing Nier. It's neat to see the callbacks to that game this time through.

Automata is soo great. One of my top games ever for sure.

We finally watched Glass Onion, and liked it. Definitely a fun movie, if a bit heavy handed with the satire.
I enjoyed it but I do think the movie is more like the rich guy and less like the detective than the writer thinks it is.

Just got done binging Mayor of Kingstown on Friday. Very well done show that has more depth to it than I initially thought. Then I see this morning that Jeremy Renner is in the hospital in critical condition. Seems like a good dude, I hope he’s ok.

On another related note, Taylor Sheridan is doing quite well with Yellowstone (spin offs as well, MoK and also Tulsa King.

Yikes, apparently a snow plow ran over one of his legs, and a doctor neighbor had to make a tourniquet for him to control the bleeding until paramedics arrived.

Damn, just read the update after seeing your reply. Crazy stuff.

I thought Tulsa King might be dead pan terrible action drama but it ends up being sorta like Barry S1 with straddling action/comedy/drama very well. Not at all just a Yellowstone in a different setting. I like it so far quite a bit.

Anyone watch Letterkenny? I recently started and I absolutely love it. Having said that, Daryl really looks like Zacha to me.
Letterkenny is one of my favorite shows. Outrageous and hilarious.

Some movies I've watched recently:

Glass Onion- Thought it was good. I liked Knives Out better but it's worth a watch.

The Black Phone- This was good... I just there was a few things they didn't bother to explain or set up (like how about "WHY")

Everything Everywhere All At Once- I highly recommend this movie. It is unlike anything I've seen in a long time. It will make you laugh, cry, lose 10 pounds... So well done.

The Menu- I had no idea what this was about going in... I only knew Ralph Fiennes was in it and I will watch anything he does. He's one of the best. I can also recommend this. So many quick little jokes in a movie that pretends to be very serious.

I don’t think the “why” matters to me for Black Phone. It’s a crime of opportunity situation as I see it. I enjoyed thr movie and felt they cared about making it. For a horror movie that isn’t always the case.

I thought Everything Everywhere All At Once was very good. My oldest thought it was amazing. It requires some effort to keep up and you have to be predisposed to a sci-fi type of scenario to enjoy it fully. My wife thought it was ok. She isn’t a Sci-Fi fan.

The Menu - thought it was great until thr very end. Once I realized it was a dark comedy I felt they leaned a bit too much into the dark not quite enough into the comedy.

I think the thing that annoyed me the most is the kids escape attempt. Didn't knock on doors, go to a neighbors house, hide in someone's yard... just ran straight down sidewalk essentially like "PLEASE CAPTURE ME AGAIN!"

Kind of dreading watching White Noise but I'll probably set some time aside for it this weekend. I'm a huge fan of DeLillo and this book specifically and the people involved are great, but you just never know with book adaptations.

They have never made a truly great adaptation of any HP Lovecraft story. Lord knows they've tried.
