I have finished 3 different seasons of shows since Christmas:

Jack Ryan Season 3 - Wasn't as good as season 1, which I enjoyed, or season 2 which was alright. I was disappointed cause I just found a lot of the actions just completely unbelievable/implausible, more so than usual for this type of show.

Reacher Season 1 - Really enjoyed this show (I have never read the books but have seen the 2 movies).

White Lotus Season 1 - I thought it was kinda blah, and not sure why it was soo hyped. I have heard Season 2 is better, but I may try watching something else in the meantime before I revisit this show.

If anyone has any recommendations along the lines of Reacher, or spy type series, would appreciate it.
Terminal List

Someone mentioned it earlier but I enjoyed Terminal List with Chris Pratt and also Extraction with Chris Hemsworth. Both are more military than spy but Terminal List leans spy with the theory’s involved.

Reacher I loved, just well done all around creatively, acting and writing.

Jack Ryan season 3 I have only watch 1 episode to watch. If my opinion ends up the same as yours, that will be disappointing. I also liked season 1 more than 2 despite them having a larger budget so hopefully this show isn’t going in the wrong direction.
The first season of a lot of shows unfortunately is its peak. Jack Ryan season 1 was terrific, 2 was meh, but I thought the 3rd was very good. It's outlandish and improbable but most TV shows are. Reacher was damn good.

M Night movies typically are very hit or miss for me. I love the idea of the twists on the stories he tells. With that said, I am very interested in Knock at the Cabin.

I've read the book it was based on called the cabin at the end of the world by Paul Tremblay so I'm really looking forward to the movie cause it's rare that I've actually read the book before seeing the movie.

I played the first game, so it was basically just a refresher for me lol. I have super high hopes with this series after watching the pilot episode. Love Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the leads as well.
I played the game only to about 25% in and got frustrated on console with how hard it was to do the movements I'm used to on pc easily and that was so long ago I forget the specifics but in general it felt refreshed and it HAS to take a deviation a la GoT or else everyone will know what's coming and complain about the delivery. Just don't do what Halo did and fall dead flat on your face on the tv adaptation.

My dumbass played like 95% on it hard mode and then played the 5% and got the trophy for beating it on normal, I was so mad when I did that without realizing. And agreed for sure, I read that some of the stuff from the show runners that the show won't have everything carry over. And ugh, GoT was my favorite TV show of all time till it ran itself off the tracks in S7 and S8. Still get a bit sad/annoyed how that show ended.

New Fire Emblem game is pretty good so far, but I just enjoy the series in general so I'm sure I would've liked it regardless

Last of Us folks - even if you've never played the game. It's just great television. Way better than expected.

That was one of the greatest television episodes I've seen period. I need to watch it again sometime this week on my TV, I was watching Bengals/Chiefs on mute while watching TLOU on the MacBook.

When the bonus content you weren't expecting beats the story you were expecting right? Swung for the fences and the ball is still going.

This is why I got super high hopes for the show, they never showed Frank in the video game. They did allude that Bill had a partner but never showed him so them showing him in the show and making a fantastic episode makes me super excited. House of Dragons + this show will probably carry me for a good 4-5 years with good TV, lol.

I’m enjoying The Last ofUs. My oldest was raving about it so I watched the first two episodes. It’s fun but
I’ve watchef so many of these sorts of shows and movies that it isn’t ground breaking or transcendent for me. It’s solid in the genre. I’ll admit I am hoping the pace picks up a bit.

I barely recall the gameplay it's been so long but I seem to remember it does pick up pacing pretty significantly but then I quit playing the game because it was so damn hard so who knows if that's brief or maintained.

I’m replaying the 1st game now and it’s still amazing. This last episode (5th?) of the show is probably the best to date. They’ve been doing a great job of introducing “side characters” and giving a little blip of their story while showing Joel and Ellie’s journey. So far it’s almost the anti Walking Dead where most of the larger characters in TWD join together to form a group to survive.

Hopefully they don’t just recreate the evil human overlord trope that Walking Dead best into the ground.

So far it seems like they took main storylines from the game and created an episodic story arc. With that said, there is no evil human overlord that will take over seasons in a row that I remember (haven’t played Part 2 as of yet).

Eh, I'd of rather seen video game Bill with the traps and stuff and especially the stuff with him and Ellie. Frank hated Bill in the end, that's why he left. The show version was just waaay too idealistic and utopian. They lived a wonderful life together for almost 20 years in the middle of a crazy f***ing apocalypse right next to a major city, cmon.

I thought Bella Ramsey was pretty bad the first couple of episodes but she was really good in the last one, she nailed it during and after the gun battle scenes in the building.

I really do like the show, the sets and cg is amazing, it looks so good, some great acting too.

i think their one miss was not letting us see Bill and Ellie interact. They still could’ve shown more of Bill and Franks story (if that was what they were wanting to do) while creating a different story that allowed Ellie and Joel to reach them. So many of these episodes seemed to have taken directly from the game and created an episode around it. Are there different directors for each episode?

It doesn't matter what subtitle they give the fire Emblem title. As long as they keep following the formula it will keep being great. Like Pokemon. I'm enjoying it so far as well.
