Indeed.

I was waiting for the literal look in the mirror shot so he would stop the madness.

So much symbolism in that show. Him telling the feds he just needed to convince one juror who essentially was Kim. Him showing her he could be James McGill instead of Slippin Jimmy or Saul as a show of his love for her. Even the flame being red in a scene that was black and white symbolizing their relationship was incredible. That show was just masterful from top to bottom. At the end he was able to stop it despite being given an out. I absolutely love that show.

It’s happening again. Use completely legitimate means if you want to watch these.

"save money on residuals"

I'm sure someone here will have all the tiny violins, but streaming really is f***ing actors and it's been an issue for a minute.

The entertainment industry will always find a way to 'win.' See Spotify.

The only real negative I have for the Better Call Saul finale season is I wanted a continuation of the normal storyline and not what we got (being careful of what I’m saying). I did enjoy the last episodes but I guess what I’m really saying is I want more seasons .

The writers are getting extra screwed. Many of them are scraping by. This has been the case at least since Netflix started making original content, but we were too satisfied with having all of our shows on two or three platforms to care. Now that it’s all split up and especially now that individual episodes or entire shows are being memoryholed, we’ve woken up but it’s too late.

I hope I’m wrong, but I figure this is a canary in a coal mine moment. If this works I expect everyone else to do the same thing.

At some point a smart company will find a way to form a writers coop platform that will share more with the writers and artists. The problem will be the startup.

I heard about the HBO and Discovery merger and HBO removing titles but haven’t seen or don’t understand how them doing this is causing what you 2 are talking about. Anyone care to explain in more detail?

Read the article.

They're removing titles specifically so they don't have to pay actors residuals.

Generally how it works in that industry is for everytime a film/show/commercial is broadcast the actors (and maybe writers, not sure about that one) get a check.

It's my understanding that the streaming services have been doing away with this practice (they don't release numbers) and are shelving a bunch of stuff waiting for the contracts to expire.

But if you're an actor what are you going to do? Tell Netflix/Amazon/Hulu to go f*** themselves? Similar issue with Spotify and musicians which is why I brought it up. You can't afford to not be on their platform no matter how hard they're ripping you off.

Bro I could do this all night lol. All time favorite show. David as Steinbrenner was fkn gold, and Jerry Stiller was a treasure
Once in a while I watch a few episodes on Netflix and they still make me laugh. So many great moments. I’m not a huge fan of Jerry. He’s only mildly funny left to his own devices in my view. But put him in a room with Larry David and their is this amazing synergy that flows naturally. Watch them riffing in one of the Curb Yiur Enthusiasm episodes where Jerry appears and it’s Seinfeld. It’s a very noticeable thing when I watch.

Anyone watch the Manti Te'o doc yet? It's really good except for one thing IMO. They tried to make the catfishing person wayyyyy too sympathetic. That person cost Te'o millions and literally altered his life.
