So you get a 1st line F, top pair D, AND a 1G at a TOTAL of 10m cap hit? (Not to mention the first is prob 8-14)
That’s tempting….gives you the cap flexibility to fill other holes as well.
Yeah this one is the winner. No way the Nucks offer this though.

I don’t think the Canucks would offer that but I do think that’s what it would take EDM to move him.
Edmonton wouldn't send McDavid to Calgary ( They aren't going to move him . I started they thread to see if the trade offers would make Edmonton better ) I also don't want Tkachuk . I hate dirty players even if they are on the Oilers
So nothing . Marino we gave away because he didn't want to sign in Edmonton I rather go after Brown in Ottawa then Kapanen . Is that 3rd round pick the difference maker ?
What's the point in the hypothetical then if he can't be traded to certain markets then? I gave what I think is a fair offer from Calgary.
With the retention and McDavid's 12.5 million dollar contract it would kill the Canucks . He would jump on the 1st UFA plane to TML . Edmonton would be laughing all the way to deep playoffs runs
There are certain players that fans just don't like . Retain some of Tkachuk's cap and I would consider it . Makes it easier for us to flip him

Mcdavid and Pettersson swap could definitely be better for both players and both teams. I remember a couple a years ago some Canucks fans were successful in putting the fear into Oilers fans that Pettersson could be pretty comparable to Mcdavid. Still a lil off imo and this season CLEARLY showing it but what would it take? This could work for both teams:
To Vancity: Mcdavid, 2022 3rd round pick
To Edmonton: Pettersson, OEL (8% retained), 2024 1st, Hunt, Lammikko, 2023 4th
Gives a lot of depth to Edmonton and even a future 1st well the Canucks could be in a position in the offseason to trade one of Horvat/Miller for a top 4 dman, but for now try this out:

I'd do sanheim but hart is not a piece you ever move. I'd also rather persue drai as I think he's slightly less likely to gut the team in the process.

Any deal involving one of McDavid or Draisaitl would need a young current(or high potential) 1C, 1D and 1G. I've said it since he was drafted and the trade talks started, you aren't getting any oil fans on here to say yes to moving McDavid without a core of young players coming back to bolster what Edmonton already have.
