To EDM: Ekholm, Jeannot, Saros

To Nash: Draisatl, Koskinen

Edmonton gets their big time #1 D Man, a 2 Way Power forward in Jeannot with big time offensive upside (27 pts in his FIRST 48 Games)- Think Gabe Landeskog or Maybe the Gen Z Jordan Staal, and a Vezina Finalist in Saros.

The delusion is thinking that the Oilers aren't winning because of McDrai. Without those two, that team would be worse than Arizona. They're the two best offensive producers in the league going on several years. They're not the Oilers problem.

Until they can play a more team game, yes they are.

That's actually interesting for Edmonton. But it would be fair for them to ask for Josi instead of Ekholm or to add an unprotected 1st.

Habs offer Caufield + 1st OV pick in the next draft (likely top3) + Christian Dvorak + Tyler Toffoli + Arthuri Lehkonen or Jan Mysak.

hilarious how discussion of this gets just a tiny bit less ridiculous each season. This thread would've been locked after like a page last year. But this season its gets a little further, not viewed quite as unspeakable as before, responses not quite as outraged. Wonder how far the offseason's will go if things continue to follow this path. Fun times ahead

Merely adding the MoneyBall analysis for the top-10 scorers of 21-22, based on their points so far. Lower PP$ is better.

There are probably McDavid trades, which make Edmonton better, but non of them will bring as much money to the team so they won't happen. If only he doesn't demand a trade.

So if Edmonton makes any trades it'll be Drai.

What a terrible trade. It's like you're not even trying.
Would make the oilers substantially more balanced and be more suited for playoff hockey. The gamble is that G re-signs with EDM in the offseason for relatively cheap.

McDavid and Draisaitl's values are only going down as it becomes clear that they are not going to improve other parts of their game. You can score 60 goals as Draisaitl but still be farrrrr less valuable to your team than a 40 goal guy due to unbelievable defensive laziness. People think points = value, but it's just not true.

People made fun of Ovechkin for his defensive play and he has had that hilarious controller disconnected gif, but he was never as bad in his own end as McDrai. You need especially your leaders to lead in all zones.

Look, you're asking for one of the best players in the entire league, who just recently in 2020 won the Hart, Art Ross and Ted Lindsay awards, and who is signed long term to a sweetheart $8.5 Million AAV deal.

You can't do that and then say it has to be the Oilers gamble Giroux signs next year. You're also totally ignoring the cap ramifications. This goes for anyone making an offer on him.

Holland would be right in asking for more than Arizona is asking for Chychrun or what Buffalo reportedly asked for Eichel before they settled for less because of his injury status. Leon Draisaitl is better than both those players.

So, four first round type assets.

McDavid would cost more.

To Flyers: Drai, Kassian, Koskinen and a 2nd round pick
To Oilers: Couturier, Konecny and Hart

More work needs to be done, but that could be a starting point...

Who says no….

To FLA: McDavid, Bouchard

To EDM: Barkov, Ekblad
I think... both. I'm not sure it's a good proposal, in the sense that I don't think either team considers it meets needs, and neither would propose it. But it's very fair.

Barkov is a great player, and the discrepancy between the defensemen makes this close. It's not likely to appeal to the two teams, but it's close.

One problem is that I think Florida feels about Barkov much the way that Edmonton feels about McDavid: Neither team could bring itself to deal its franchise player.
