Your last 2 points is really well worth mentioning. We've also seen this very recently. But I might suggest that with McDavid (God Bless his soul) returning soon, along with Yaks, that'll give McLellan an entire arsenal of choices to allow Hall/Drai, Ebs/Nuge, and last but not least for sure, McDavid/Yaks "The Combo". It's fair to say that both sides are right in certain aspects. Hopefully the right one wins. *That wasn't ended with a backhand slap to suggest your wrong. It's just the way it flowed. 747

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. But if we make it in, it would be in 3rd in Pacific (or possibly 2nd), and they'd face the 2nd (or possibly 3rd) place team from the same horrible Pacific.
So there's a good chance they don't get dummied (until the 2nd round).
Also, looking forward to seeing Yakupov produce and be awesome when he comes back!
Anyway, to stay on topic, can't wait until McDavid comes back. Still could be very important (playoff implication) games. And who knows what happens if we get in

As long as we don't face any team in the Pacific or Central division we're practically a Cup contending team.

It's a mentality like this that needs to be lost. Even if we weren't in a playoff race which we are this team has a lot to play for.
I'm not saying rush McDavid, but if he's healthy you bring him back and you fight as long as you can forcing your GM to make a trade this summer to give you that extra push.

The only reason we're in a playoff race is because we've played 3 more games than most of the teams in front of us. We'll likely drop even lower once games played starts to even out.

Gazdic on waivers and sent down once he clears, Khaira and Pakarinen back to the AHL. None of these three guys are NHL level players now (or ever in Gazdic's case)
Seems relatively straight forward to me.

I like this lineup. I also wouldn't mind Pakarinen on McDavid/Yak's LW until Kassian shows he's ready. He can keep up, likes to hit, and can finish when he gets a chance.

I don't think we're seeing Kassian until the end of the year, and only IF he performs well in Bakersfield. I really think Chiarelli will make him earn a call up, and give him 10 - 20 games to do so.
They wouldn't have bothered trading for him if they didn't think he was going to play for the Oilers this season. I'll be pretty surprised if he's not up sooner rather than later. That is of course assuming he doesn't just stink it up in the minors and/or relapse.
But ah. Off topic! This is a McDavid thread. Whoops!
I'm very much looking forward to his return. Can't wait. Hope he comes out with a bang although conservative though makes me think he might need a couple games to get back up to speed. It took him 3 or 4 to start the year to start owning offensively. Might need a bit of time this time again.
Wait so now McDavid is wearing a non-contact jersey? I thought the scuttlebutt was that he's been in a normal jersey?
