Based on the context of that video, and the title of that video being "Hall comes back wearing no contact jersey" I think that actually is a no-contact jersey that McDavid is wearing.

This board, trying to determine McDavid's return date:

Taken from the same year as your video:
Fellow sick bay resident Ales Hemsky also took to the ice, albeit wearing a red no-contact jersey.

From 2013:
"I think I'm going to be on the ice with the guys right away. I'll probably wear a yellow (no contact) jersey to start," Nugent-Hopkins said.

The plot thickens lol:

Right now, we only know that he was at practice skating with the rest of the team, doing stick work. He then went to lead the stretch in a white jersey; if he was non-contact, he would be in a yellow or perhaps powder-blue jersey, so we are going to believe that he is able to throw his weight around.

Honestly I think he's pretty much ready, they just being cautious. If this was Letestu or some other low profile guy he would be in no doubt. I think they will hold him out till the Calgary game next week.

Back o' beyond
During McLellan's presser today, he confirmed that both Yakupov and McDavid took part in "some" contact drills today.

Ah so they have a dozen misc colors for various degrees of non-contact jerseys

Don't know about that. I think they were wearing the whites on game day skates because there's no contact for anyone on those days, and then the light blues for the harder practices, where they're only participating in some of the contact drills. Problem solved.

Is. Is a racial slur.

Pak Man. There, you're all welcome.

Yeah. I've been calling him that from day 1. Best one IMO.

Regarding the Oilers not saying when is he back, what game will he start, where is he practicing, how long will he be injured for, and which jersey will he wear today? I like it. Keep em guessing. You know that the other teams are going to be guessing more than we are, don't you? This is gamesmanship 101 at work.

If there's no contact for anyone on certain days why do they need jerseys signifying no contact on those days? :sarcasm:

Honestly I think he could play this Friday, but they're not going to do that.

They will give him an extra 7-10 days out of an abundance of caution.
