No, @The Old Master, I had no f***ing idea that was a thing!!! Only been watching since 1993! Year #28!

This board is irritating as f***. There's zero respect.
easy, you were acting like all hex had to do was snap his fingers and a "good" trade would happen. all I'm doing is pointing out that's not that easy. and you who has been watching hockey for that long should know better.:)

That’s what, 7 out of 8 years missing 15-25 games? Hope Geno re-signs but I’d want him to take a bit of a cut due to his inability to stay healthy.

When you miss days at work due to illness do you think your boss should offer you less next time you go in for a review? Asking someone to take a pay cut for something completely out of their control is about as unemphatic as one could get

If I missed 25% of my work year...yes.

Also way to equate like, the real social debates about maternity leave for people making $60K a year versus athletes making $9,500K a year.

The plethora of deals being made this season underlines how salient this point is!

Oh... wait...

It’s easy to suggest that a deal should be made. I agree it should... our team needs some help. But there does not seem to be much in the way of a market. You also don’t want to pay dollars for pennies.

What MUST happen is to check if we can conceivably get help from within, and with what our 4th liners have done, you gotta test-drive Zohorna and Bellerive, stat.
There aren't a lot of deals, this is true, but that doesn't mean a deal can't be had. There are many players for down and out teams on expiring contracts. And to be clear I'm not talking about high end caliber players. While it might not be as easy to make a deal under current circumstances, I don't see it as and overly cumbersome problem either.

I don't think acquiring a quality depth forward or two is asking much. Pandemic or otherwise. And as I mentioned previously, I don't necessarily subscribe to the theory that answers can be had from within the farm system.

Right, because going knee on knee with a 6ft 6 230lb player who was frankly leading with his knee is definitely a sign that Malkin can’t stay healthy and should take a pay cut. Hockey is a dangerous game and injuries happen. He won’t be taking any pay cut for that.

You don't see Ovechkin missing over 20 games a season almost every season.
