Fantastic post to post save at the end of that Minnesota game by Murray to preserve the win. Murray looking really good so far (it's early).

He's not 4-1-1 and wins in 4 of his last 5 since returning from injury. Hopefully he can stay healthy.

I think the most surprising and impressive thing so far for me with Murray is his athleticism. If he let in that breakaway goal or even that shot by Kaprizov in the dying seconds, I wouldn't have faulted him. Yet he came up huge on both.

Yeah not to take away from the defensemen in the lineup who I think have played well given the circumstances but Murray has really saved our bacon these last two games. He's made big saves in both games and has given the team a steady presence back there.

I think the team is absolutely giving the goalies a fighting chance to shine. But yeah, he's definitely making those key saves when needed.

Here is the comparison of Leafs goalies the past 3 years under Keefe, and ranked on SV% and GAA vs. Leafs new additions.. NHL overall ranking in column #1. Ranked high to low.

Surprisingly Jack Campbell edged out Freddy Anderson as he finished 27th to 31st in SV% with JC @ .913 and FA .912 ,, Campbell finished 18th to Freddy at 20th with 2.57 to 2.59 GAA.

So far this year:

Murray: 4-1-1, .921, +3.83 GSAx
Samsonov: 6-2-0, .921, + 5.01 GSAx
Andersen: 5-3-0, .891, -2.72 GSAx
Mrazek: 1-4-0, .885, -4.96 GSAx
Campbell: 7-5-0 .875, -9.32 GSAx

Looks like the move to much better defensive system and team in general (which has been able to weather the most banged up dcore in the league) has been good for the 2 new additions while the other guys are suffering (and maybe Andersen is starting to wear down a bit). Health is still an issue of course but the performance difference is striking. Can't wait to see what these two guys can do in the playoffs as they look like gamers.

Not taking any credits from Sammy and Murray but the Leafs D are playing pretty good too and Jack might have the same numbers as Murray and Sammy if he is the Leafs goalie.
Playoffs will be measuring stick for them.

Leafs “controversies” are always amplified in the eyes of the league and by the media. It’s why our first time offenders always miss games after hearings. Would Matthews have been suspended for his crosscheck on Dahlin if he played for the likes of Columbus or Arizona? Doubtful, I also doubt their broadcast teams would’ve immediately started calling for a suspension after it happened.

I agree with the save to help us win but if I'm deciding who I want in net, I would rather the whole package

He remembered the game started at 7 and allowed a goal at 7:05.

Not taking any credits from Sammy and Murray but the Leafs D are playing pretty good too and Jack might have the same numbers as Murray and Sammy if he is the Leafs goalie.

Leafs played even better defensively last year and Campbell did not have those numbers.

Seeing Mrazek give up 7 goals tonight to drop to a .878 sv% on the season and Campbell's .875 sv% makes me feel pretty good about our goalies at the moment
