no wonder he didn't get extended and is about to get kicked to the curb
what purpose did your post serve other than to show Dubas is spending more to get the same poor resultswhat purpose does this post serve, do you think?

and here i thought you were a fan of the guy
my post served to show both are sub par just like your post did but this years tandem is more expensivemy post served the purpose of comparing last year's goaltending to this year's goaltending on the goaltending thread.
what purpose did yours serve?

Obviously, contracts are about more than just a player's performance in the most recent season.Too bad you did not tell Holland who paid Soup 5x5 but luckily you never told Dorion or he would not have paid Dubas to take Murray.
It is ironic how early last year you said you do not need to pay for good goaltending but have shit on the Soup since the playoffs ended and it was apparent Leafs we going in a different direction. Are you forgetting, Soup gave up less goals than Vasi in round #1 ?

Maybe, that was the year Penguins won the cup.Does the team played for and games played have anything to do with it?
Is everything OK? You never, ever have a single positive word to say about a 115 point team that was within one goal of eliminating the 2 time cup champs.
Perhaps you need to take time off to gain a little perspective?
Does "about to get kicked to the curb" mean that he might fufill his contract and not be offered a new one?and your boi is spending more this year to get the same sub par results he got last year , lol
no wonder he didn't get extended and is about to get kicked to the curb
You think Matt Murray's 2016-2017 season is the same as what Campbell gave us last year?Campbell gave the Leafs 49 games 31 wins 2.64 GAA and .914 sv% & 5 Shutouts. - Record: 31 - 9 - 6 = 68 points
vs.
Murray career best Pens 49 games 32 wins 2.41 GAA and .923 sv% & 4 Shutouts. - Record: 32 -10 - 4 = 68 points
Matt Murray will need to match his career best season of 2016-17 to give the Leafs what Campbell did last year.
You think Matt Murray's 2016-2017 season is the same as what Campbell gave us last year?
Murray is the 23rd highest paid starting goalie. If the rest of the team played above their pay grade as Soup did, Dubas would not be in the hot seat he is in today. Perhaps somebody can find a stat that links SV% to $$. Pretty sure Soup blows Murray, Mrazek, and Samsonov out of the water.
Murray's 6.25m aav salary makes him the 5th highest paid goalie according to spotrac,Murray is the 23rd highest paid starting goalie.
So if they get even middle of the pack goaltending, then
A) he outperformed his salary, and
B) he outperformed the near league worst goaltending the Leafs got after Christmas, no matter how little they paid. They got what they paid for.
Prove me wrong on any of this. Go ahead. Please.
We are paying Murray just under 4.7m, not 6.25m.Murray's 6.25m aav salary makes him the 5th highest paid goalie according to spotrac,
Exactly. That retained cap hit for the Leafs places him as the 23rd highest AAV. The bar isn't high for him to outperform his cap hit.We are paying Murray just under 4.7m, not 6.25m.
