Maybe these are just as bad but what do you think was worse? Allowing the shorthanded goal on a shot he should have stopped, or not making just one more save in the shooutout?

If the shorthanded goal never gets scored maybe the Leafs win in regulation and the game never gets to overtime. If all the others goals still happened like we saw.
If you score 5 goals you should win in regulation. The game should never have gotten to OT.

We get off to a good start with goalies, and our fan base is bragging on the main boards after 1 month. Now we're in slump for a few weeks and you guys want to waive one of them and rely on an AHL goalie after a 7 game stretch.

Good grief.

Nobody was bragging.

It was one Leaf fan that started the thread. Most Leafs were cautiously optimistic and were unexpectedly happy with the results thus far given how the duo were written off before even one game was played.

So Samsonov Wednesday. I believe he hasn't lost in regulation at home. Murray Thursday. Samsonov Saturday. Didn't have a chance to finish the game against Boston last time due to injury.

I hope Woll gets the nod for the next callup. He doesn't seem to be playing at the same level as the other Marlie tenders..

He's playing out of his mind right now lol. I'd still love for him to get the bulk of his games in the AHL for the remainder of this season (barring injury), but I think he should definitely get a handful of games in at the 65 game mark because

- The regular standings will probably calcify between BOS-TOR-TB that it's ok to keep Murray/Samsonov fresh through the final six weeks of the season

- It still another 6-8 weeks for Woll to play in the AHL to maximize reps of whatever the heck he's doing right now to play like this...and to give him the routine and rhythm of a regular workload to build up his health and stamina

- Giving him 6-7 games in the NHL season would be a nice reward for a strong AHL season while keeping him ready for the AHL playoffs

- It gives the Leafs a glimpse of what he could do versus regular NHL opponents...

- ...which may inform any action management might want to take with Murray/Samsonov in the off-season

Murray with a great game, bounces back from his last start.

Now 21-0-0 with a SV% of 0.910 or above.

Ebbs and flows of the season will happen

As long as they're .910-915+ it's a win for us. The high danger save% has been the best part, we don't give up a lot but when we do they're among the best in the league at stopping it

Murray, Samsonov and Kallgren, you mean.

He also seems to have forgotten silly little things like how the goalies have actually performed - instead posting a team stat that badly represents how Murray/Samsonov have done as a tandem so far compared to their counterparts in previous seasons.

In the 2020-21 Season at some point Andersen got injured and missed a number of games, which is why Campbell replaced him as the #1 Goalie.

In the 2021-22 Season Mrazek was basically injured for the majority of his time in Toronto.

I know that season at some point Murray and Samsonov was injured, however we are finally seeing the results over a lot of games when both Leafs Goalies are playing at the same time.

A healthy Murray at playoff time is what we need .. if he is healthy then he has proven he can win a Cup .. I have seen enough of him this year and saw enough of him with Pens to know he is a tender who can win da big game .. it all comes down to whether he can stay healthy

Why were you on the ledge?
There has been way more good than bad this year.

Not me, but I've seen a handful of "we need to trade for a goalie" posts over the last few days. Hope they've calmed down a bit

Russo is a good journalist most of the time but the man is absolutely OBSESSED with this in a sad way
