A pair of back-to-backs coming up. I'd alternate starts across the four games. No idea which goalie should kick things off though.

They’re both coming off games where they look like they got hit by the seasonal affective disorder with the weather we’ve been having. Might need some Vitamin D. And some D help.

Before y'all go and off yourselves, even Shesterkin who won the Vezina last year with a .935 still had 13 games where he posted a sv% below .900. Even Vasi the great who everyone puts on a pedestal has as many sub .900 games as Murray does this season.

Samsonov is a bit concerning but I think Murray will be fine.

I dont think last 2 game is something we really care about...

Vs blues sorry but anybody who watched that game know leafs was trash defensivly 1st 40 minutes... we can blame samsonov for the 1st goal when he probably stole at least 3-4 goal during the 1st 5 minutes of the game. We can blame him on SO goal... thats it... leafs was just totally awful in that game. Samsonov Is just the victim in this game of a total defensive disaster...

Vs seattle

Its kind of game extremely hard for a goalie... Murray didn't see anykind of action first 30 minutes when leafs was always in Seattle territory... in a game who didn't bring any kind of emotion... kind of game really hard to keep your focus...

Just calm down and watch whats next

The Leafs are in BIG trouble with Murray and Samsonov. Murray is the worst between them by a long shot. There is still enough games for this Goaltending to cause the team to miss the playoffs! It is not that unrealistic if you look at the standings. A bad stretch and they will be out.

Movie gif. Gene Tierney as Martha in Heaven Can Wait runs off and flops dramatically on a couch, crying.

The Leafs aren't in big trouble but the trend is obviously not good. Regression to the mean for both Murray and Samsonov will include weeks like this. The mean won't be this bad, but it won't be as good as November.

The good thing is they have a foundation of early season success and can try to replicate what worked earlier for both these goalies as well as reinforcing the team play that made them successful.

Both down from a .930 to around .915

Need to stop further decline

I said this a few games ago, but I think it's playing out and needs repeating.

I'm not a fan of Keefe alternating them every single game. I think it doesn't allow either goalie to get into a groove. If they have a good game, they have to wait 5 days to see their next game and continue the roll. If they have a bad game, they have to sit around thinking about their poor performance for 5 days before they can attempt to rebound.

Goalies need to play multiple games in a row. I get you don't want to burn one out or have one too cold, but you can accomplish that by picking a #1 and going 3 or 4 straight with them, then putting in the other guy for 1 or 2. That way both guys are relatively fresh, but the "starter" has a chance to get in a proper groove.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Samsonov's best stretch was when Murray was out and Samsonov was getting consecutive starts, while Murray's best stretch was when Samsonov was out and Murray was getting consecutive starts.

Not worried about goalies tbh

I'm worried about Rielly (defensively ) and to an extent Brodie (because his style is too soft, see Paul goal) in the playoffs.

In an odd twist of events I no longer hate Holl defensively, which helps to validate my thoughts on the other 2 free of bias.

Probably his worst game since Montreal considering how he got beaten

Everyone gets to have those a few times in during the season we'll see how he rebounds

The positive is that none of the goals came from an inability to go side to side. Which was my biggest worry especially since he knocking nets off partially because he was cheating a little and pushing off the post with his arm to get to the other side. He seems to still be fine at that

Worrying thing is this is the time where teams start to figure people and other teams out. We'll see if this is just a bad couple of games or if the league has a book on them within our system now

Thought the scouting report was weak glove hand. Watched the goals on NHL.com and the Seattle announcers were saying it. Doubt he can fix it soon enough.

After how poorly Samsonov played on Tuesday, they really needed Murray to step up here but he obviously wasn't up to the task.
Probably Riellys fault.
