You've been claiming Woll is the answer for quite some time. I'd be concerned if he became our #1 vs Tampa. Hope you are right.
It is not an ideal way to enter league but it has occurred before .. unfortunately Sammy won't be able to cut it .. playoffs are too much pressure for him (same issues with Freddy/Soup too) .. Woll could not care less .. he actually amps his game up da bigger da game .. only some guys have this capability .. he does

It’s Sammy and Woll the rest of the way, and I think it’s basically a preview of next year. You can’t bring Murray and his salary back next year. Maybe off-load him to Phoenix if you can find a deal there. They seem to love garbage contracts

MIke Johnson talking to Al's Bros on Leaf Lunch just said as much as Leafs wanted Murray to start game #1, that ship has sailed. Nobody is making this sh1t up. Murray has two SC rings, the experience and I think Sammy has 1 playoff win. Why would it not make sense that the Leafs wanted/hoped Murray could start game #1 ??
Always seemed pretty obvious. Not sure why that got some so bunched up.

Can't he block a move there?

That's always seemed pretty obvious that Murray was brought here in hopes of getting them over the playoff hump.

Obvious and controversial. Seems like the entire crop of youngish goalies that changed teams in Husso, Georgiev, Vanecek, Samsonov, Gustafsson each had some unique upside and we were lucky to grab one.

Murray has been a parlay bet on health and performance and often one or the other or neither has panned out. No harm no foul if the Leafs can convince him to go to Lupul Lodge or Muzzin Mountain next year but he needs to be LTIRed.

I think the medias are the ones creating the illusion that MGT wants Murray to start over Sammy in the playoffs. While MGT just wants Murray to be ready for the playoffs in case Sammy craps the bed in the playoffs.
I don’t think Dubas and Keefe were ever going to openly state Sammy is their starter a few weeks back bc although Sammy been better and consistent, there were stretches where he struggled too.

Murray was a bad bet, which everyone but the front office knew.

We'll see how they dump him in the offseason.

Yeah, Samsonov was clearly the leading candidate to start game 1, even before the injury.
The injury has just presented an opportunity for some to spread false claims that, if Murray is injured for a bit, can't be specifically disproven, even though it's obvious.
Murray brought valuable playoff experience, but whoever played better was always going to start game 1, and Samsonov has played better, both overall and recently.

Has there been any update on Murray? Is he actually out?

Funny that after all of the discussion around which of Murray, Campbell and Talbot was a bad signing for their respective team, it is looking like it ended up being all 3 of them.

Once he said he hit his head to trainer after getting up slow da trainer has to remove him from ice to a dark room testing area .. if after an acute review he is deemed ok then he can return to ice .. or medical staff can be unsure if he is concussed or not and then there is a 24 hr cool off period and he is tested again

Murray has put up +1.0 GSAx, and came with 3rd and 7th round picks.
Talbot has put up -0.9 GSAx, and cost the Sens a 24 year old who was one of the best goalies in the league this year.
Campbell has put up -19.0 GSAx, and is signed for the next 4 years at 5m.

I know which I'd take.

Murray wasn't bad, just can't stay healthy.
It was worth a shot, IMO.
Hopefully Dubas won't overpay to dump the contract this summer.

Sure? I'm not saying that they're all equally poor thus far, just that none of them are shaping up to be a good move because of contract, performance or durability.

If you take what these talking heads say seriously, you're making a big mistake. They're in the entertainment business, period.

The answer is none of them

Murray makes $8 million in actual dollars next year. So really hard to just shop him out. Might have to eat a buyout on him. Bad bet that most people knew from the get go.

We owe 6 million I believe. Not going to be a easy move. A buyout or LTIR seems most likely. Bad bet for sure.
