I found them cringeworthy and annoying. Heh heh Biz can't read heh heh Yandle didn't block shots heh heh I'm a giant nerd who's getting to sit with the cool jocks for once I'm going to play dumb to fit in heh heh heh. I'm not listening to these goons try to analyse anything, sorry. Since I don't watch live I rarely watch intermission stuff but I saw some of last night's and I just despair if this is the sort of thing the NHL has representing it.

The game commentary is what it is. The only person on the nationally televised games I've seen over the past however many years who annoys me is Darren Pang because he's a massive Saint Louis fan and because he tries to go holy jumpin! every ten seconds regardless of what's actually happening.
Oh, trust me, a lot of the issues you present here are absolutely 100% correct about Biz. I don't care for all the "I am too cool for school" attitude that his energy gives off. However, the NHL has been so boring and for once this bloke asks racy questions or tries to bring out some of the players' personalities that I can't really fault him for his original attitude. He's unique and something new. I find Pang beyond annoying as well, he's fine in neutral games, but absolutely awful if the Blues are involved on national telly. I don't think he has an "Avs-hate" attitude that Ferraro had back in the day or what currently Boucher has though.

I'm not really a big Yandle fan, but I enjoyed that story about him and Boyd Gordon almost fighting in the parking lot as teammates. That was a great story and he told it pretty well.

That's the kind of thing they need more of on these broadcasts IMO. If you're going to have ex players on the panel, utilize their experience and peel back the curtain to the real life in the NHL. Give us some of the more mild stories these guys would tell over some beers.

Kroenke 100% hates that i park at elitches instead of his bullshit parking lot.

Also bear in mind, as a leftist, i would gladly see kroenke in line for a guillotine... he'd be toward the back of the row since he f***ed st blowis over and moved the Rams team away from those dipshit racists.

It sucks the altitude crew is destined for unemployment, but that's the capitalism meat grinder for you. At least i was a DirecTV subscriber during this bullshit.

But hey, thank GOD we will have more luxury condos where an amusement park once stood, AMIRITE?

Where the hell is Elitch’s going? I worked there when they made the big move (and holy shit that was a disaster) but man after all they invested only to tear it down…

I think they bought land near Meow Wolf for development there.

Rumors have also circulated Elitch could be moved out of downtown. And, as always, Commerce City, is a name that gets circulated. I think that could be the death knell for the park if that's the case. I hadn't heard about the Auraria plans. That's interesting. I wouldn't have thought there was enough continuous, available land there.

I remember the first time they moved they were eyeing Durango, wonder how that would've gone down. The move was suuuuuuuch a shitshow...I felt bad for the entire executive team, nearly all of them got the axe at the end of the season, including my boss. Can't say it was unwarranted but damn...frankly I don't think they ever should've moved in the first place even though the original site off of Tennyson was sketch.

Interesting. Bally Sports San Diego just barely meet the payment deadline and retain their rights to broadcast the Padres season opener against the Rockies.

MLB is going to be their first priority as the MLB is just waiting for the right moment to jump at a breach of contract suit.

I still think it’s jacked up that Goulet and others don’t have their jerseys in our rafters. That’s one stupid aspect of a franchise being moved.
I would love if all the retired Nordique players joined the rafter here in Denver. This might not be their home, but it is still their team and the fans will gladly accept them.

I have always been a fan of what happens in European football. Honour the number and make a statue of the legend, but don't retire any number. If a player is crazy about Forsberg, then they should be allowed to wear that number. In the case of this, Nordique players would have their own honourable plaques across the Pepsi Centre.

That's not a bad idea, but I don't mind a few retired numbers for the legends that helped the team in it's infancy. Or on the Avs case, it's second infancy. Just so long as it doesn't get out of hand.

I will never understand retired numbers. If a player grew up watching someone and that someone is the reason he plays hockey, why shouldn't he be able to wear that number? That IMO is much more honourable than mandating nobody allowed to wear the number ever again.

Mike Ribeiro honoring Gretzky by wearing 99 would have been legendary!

I like it... shows respect for the player. Many players allow others to wear the numbers later, but I like that in many cases it is their choice. IIRC Toronto doesn't take numbers out of circulation (outside of 5 and 6 where shit happened) they just 'retire the jersey.'

I don't mind what the Leafs do. They "honour" jerseys in the rafters and that is great. But players can still choose those numbers IIRC.

Like... if someone on the Avs grew up just LOVING Forsberg or Sakic and wanted 21 or 19, I would like that player to be able to get the number.
