If SEA wins around before us, I will off myself
Seattle has 6 20 goal scores. How many 20 goal scorers do they have though?
Seattle has 6 20 goal scores.
it was a boring game as seattle dominated and smothered em all game. leafs game had a dirty hit in it too which increased the spicyness. The gameday thread for this game generated 8 pages of posts. The Leafs game? 123 pages.
Kraken D outworked Avs forwards along the boards. Just as the Lightning limited 34 and 16’s chances, the Kraken threw a blanket on MCK. Oh, and Grubs was stout.
Expansion team with like 5 fans on HFboards + playing the late games vs easily the largest fanbase on the site playing the early game. Yeah not really surprising. Leafs shitty waiver pickup threads go yard all the time, leafs fans just can't keep their mouths shut. The gameday thread for this game generated 8 pages of posts. The Leafs game? 123 pages.

Source? That value is way too high.team that wins game 1 will take the series about 78% of the time,
Yeah I'd love to see the source for that too. That sounds outrageously high.Source? That value is way too high.
During the broadcast I believe they said it was between 60-68%, which is still quite high. But that's usually because the better team has home-ice advantage.Source? That value is way too high.
You left out the avs swept them with their backupYou left out the Oil had an injured #1 defenseman and the 2nd greatest player in the league playing on a peg leg he borrowed from the Spirit Halloween storage.
Don't forget in 2021, they had to postpone the entire western division TWO times simply because the avalanche players could not and would not properly socially distance. No other team had this issue, only them. It threw off schedules for everyone even teams that did not play them for those given nights and it caused teams to play with absurd schedules down the stretch. Then when other teams players got covid before the playoffs started, instead of postponing the games until they were better, they went on with the show.Very average goaltending from the Kraken. They limited the Aves to the outside shots.
The Aves weakness for the past five years has always been teams that play defense. Teams that forecheck and play defensively usually win 4 straight vs the Aves.
Last year the Aves faced the blues without a goalie, Edmonton who tried to get into a breakaway relay, and Tampa Bay who was injured after 3 deep runs at the cup.
This is the first time the Aves are facing a defensive checking team since Vegas. And we know how that ended.
I'm not sure that game can be hung all on the D. How many OZ pucks did the the Avs win? How many crisp play-based passes did the Avs complete? It looked to me like the whole team underperformed last night.Meh. Not exactly. The Avs had some near misses. MacKinnon and Byram hit a post. Rantanen had some also near misses. If it bounces the other way, the analysis is different.
The real problem is that Seattle had even more near misses. Why? Because the one of the key strengths of the team for the Avs, ie the defense, played awful last night and they were hemorrhaging chances as a result. Manson was a disaster. Makar wasn't a disaster but didn't play well. They looked rusty. Toews looks like he has battle fatigue. He's had to carry the load for all the D that have been injured.
Management prioritized keeping the defense together because the defense from last playoffs fed the offense. They were taking a risk having them come back for game 1 and it backfired badly.
Quite frankly, with some of the chances Seattle had, it could have been worse. And if the Avs defense doesn't get it together, it could be a short series that feels like a long series.
The stats I've seen showcase that Game 5 is more important if a series gets that far. I get Game 1 is also important, but I've seen too many series where teams won Game 1 lost the series that a percentage around 80% seems ridiculous. Above 50% seems more reasonable where 58 to 65% I think is much closer to what I know from my history of following the NHL.During the broadcast I believe they said it was between 60-68%, which is still quite high. But that's usually because the better team has home-ice advantage.
The surname Geekie was first found in Angus (Gaelic: Aonghas), part of the Tayside region of northeastern Scotland, and present day Council Area of Angus, formerly known as Forfar or Forfarshire, where they held a family seat on the lands of Gagie in the parish of Murroes from very ancient times.
