Avs 1st period was a team that deserved to be swept. 2nd and 3rd were more the brand of hockey I’m used to seeing from them.

Seattle did a great job limiting quality chances again. Sure Gru made more saves tonight, but quality scoring chances were closer to even.

MacK is still being contained (though in a couple instances just barely) and Rantanen has been close to a non-factor so far. I could see Colorado walking out of Seattle with the series at 2-2. They really need their depth to show up in the way it has for Seattle.

Hakstols single biggest issue in Philly was sitting back when the team would get a lead. We called it the "Hakshell." I noticed its happened in Seattle quite a few times since he's been there, including last night.

I imagine you're pretty knowledgeable about things people cannot handle, being that you cannot handle reality. I'll defer to your vast knowledge on this subject.
Imagine being happy about having to DESPERATELY scrap out a 1 goal win at home against a team 1 year out from expansion.

If Seattle raises their game and forecheck, which they did not do, Colorado has no answer for it as we saw for the first 4 periods of this series.

Imagine not making the playoffs over a team 1 year out from expansion.

Imagine? Do you imagine a scenario where it will take Seattle 49, 50, or even 51 years to win a Stanley Cup?

I know everyone is piling on this post with some ad hominems, but you thought that was "DESPERATELY scrap[ping] out a 1 goal win"??? Sure it was only a 1 goal game (you can thank Gru for that), but the Avs throttled Seattle the second half of the game. The underlying numbers and the eye test bear this out.

Well, I do expect the Avs will put up more of a fight, though.

Interesting thing about this series so far is that despite the pucks thrown at Georgiev, 4 of 5 Seattle goals have been mostly due to dumb errors or lackadaisical play by Colorado. Seattle isn’t really making their offensive opportunities count

If Colorado can tighten up their play I think they can take both games in Seattle handily. If they cant, Seattle takes the series

Seattle are a good team. Their players have bought in. Not surprised they are competitive in this series. They played Avs well in the regular season as well.

Avs have a better goalie than last year and the best defense in the league, but has had a very injury plagued season where some key players probably aren't where they should be and offensive depth is much worse than last year. Hard to win a cup without a real 2C.

Most Avs fans have a realistic view of what they can and can't do this year. Everything has to go their way to go deep.

What a difference reading this thread compare to the EDM/LA thread. The worst you read about here is from a Blues' fan.

Way to keep classy from both teams' fans. Great series so far.

You mean that expansion team that made the playoffs when your Blose team couldn't? Yeah, Seattle is a far better franchise than St. Louis.

That being said I don't think the Avalanche make much noise this season. Too banged up.

Does Seattle switch up the goaltending for game 4?

I honestly don’t feel like tonight’s L was on Gru. However do they give Jones the start?

Sadly for Seattle, Grubauer can't save glove-side shots, even if MacKinnon put up the goal of the playoffs thus far. It sucks because I liked Grubs when he was with the Avs, but they made the right decision to allow him to leave.
