Rants will be more consistent than Necas and presumably have much better chemistry with everyone.

Drury is our 2C….feels like something might still need to happen if we’re making this run with Rants. I can’t see Drury being the game plan after an “all in” move like this.

Never mind….KK is our path to greatness still. I could see us staying there because we might double down on the KK plan.

on espn now seems like the deal is "officially:"

Avs receive:
- Necas
- Drury

Hawks receive:
- 3rd round pick
- 50% of Rants salary

Canes receive:
- Rants 50%
- Hall

The thing is that the Canes gave up little in the way of futures. Even if Rantanen chooses to go elsewhere, the Canes are going to have an absolute s**t-ton to spend this offseason and no 1st round pick was surrendered in order to make that happen.

IOW, practically a dime and a penny. The Canes trade down for draft capital at any opportunity that they can. One first rounder easily gets back a couple of seconds on draft day.

Elite shooter and puck protection, above average vision and passing, ridiculous patience/poise with the puck. Rarely makes puck mistakes. Impossible to knock over or off the puck. Not really fast. Strong like Staal. They call him Moose and he kind of skates like one.

He’s that 50ft player we’ve talked about. Reasonable defensive effort usually.
