Best Flyer of all time. Should have been one for his entire career and hit that milestone here but the worst GM in the league and an egotistical old cancer named Bobby Clarke f***ed us.

At least he’s on a team that has a future and actually appreciates him. He was wasted and criminally under-appreciated in that miserable shithole in Philly. Hopefully Ottawa can get him into some meaningful playoff games before he’s done. He deserves it more than anyone.

I hope he wants to remain part of the team when he retires.

Could see him being an excellent player development guy and doubt his intensity waivers at all.

We could end up with a pretty impressive group of former players when Alfie gets added to the mix and that alone would be a significant step for the franchise.

In terms of my disappointment of Ottawa not taking that extra step this year, the guy I feel for the most is Giroux after the season that he's put together and the obvious impact he's had on guys like Stutzle.

Pretty astounding that the Flyers can't even manage a congratulatory tweet for the guy who captained them for nearly a decade reaching 1000 points.
Inarguably the worst org in the league as far as quality, competency, and likability goes.

Everything has gone downhill since Hextall got fired and the parasite advisors (Clarke, Barber, Lombardi) regained control.

Even if Giroux "declines" tomorrow, or doesn't produce as much as he did this season next year (which is something fair to expect), I think he's still capable of putting up 60+ points. Not bad at all for the a top 6 forward who's turning 36 next year

Said it in another thread, but look at Pavelski

@36 0.91 ppg
@37 0.98 ppg
@38 0.95 ppg

Giroux just went .975 ppg as a 35 year old. We should expect another 3 seasons at this level of play. maybe a few less goals since that isn't really his norm.

His conditioning regime is pretty legend, so if he keeps playing with Stu and Brady, and according to the latest article the trio are tight on and off the ice, he should remain highly productive. We could even see more points if Brady and Stu hit another level.

From my perspective, Giroux is the best FA signing this franchise has ever made. He means a lot to us fans, but his affect and effect on the kids are immeasurable.

love watching old guys who can still bring it in this league, they know every trick not just to survive but to excel.

he is like yoda to our kids. small old guy who is a legendary master at his craft.

Seeing Spezza give his absolute all in Toronto to the point of tears, really hurt. Knowing that he was more invested in that team than he likely ever was here. And then seeing Spezza enter their front office and likely a fixture there.

Giroux has undone all of that. His love and ties for this city, and elite level play, his impact on Stutzle alone will pay immense dividends. As will his likely future with this team's front office.

Let alone the Alfredsson leaving factor. Giroux is the best thing to happen to us since the optimism surrounding the 2012-2013 team.

The perfect vet for this team. We all saw the immense respect they showed him on that 1000 point. He is the underlying captain of this team. Next year must be playoffs. With this leadership group, we could make serious damage.

Sound like Brass might enter the front office as well which would be an awesome local tie.

G was campaigning for him to join the team the other day, if he hangs them up that is.

Youre right, we’re staring to build a nice legacy with the team. Redden, Neil, Phillips, Winchester, Donovan, all part of the team, and hopefully Alfie and Brass soon. G eventually :)

Greco is such a snake oil salesman and the way he monetizes his relationship with Giroux is sooooo greasy.

Assen na yo.

I don't know who Greco is and now I'm nervous to google him. I just searched videos go Giroux's workout, saw sweating Claudefather was smitten

I mean Giroux is in pretty good shape at 35 years old and Greco has been his trainer his entire career. Seems pretty mutually beneficial.

I remember my father and brother going to Greco's Martial Arts when I was a kid. Walls were just absolutely lined with photos of Greco with sports figures.
