Angle melted his gold medals and turned it into a golden shovel so profound and magnificent it makes HHH and Austin cower into a corner. Dude straight up beats RVD for the hardcore title clean as a whistle with a submission and only gets beat by a nearly unconscious RVD after both dudes are thrown off the stage.

Dude 9/11 is the following day of this broadcast of Raw. I don't think I'm ready for the Smackdown following. I think I saw Lillian Garcia sing the national anthem before the show and the rest is a blur. These people have no idea how much the world is going to change in a little less than12 hours from the time of this broadcast.

Christ... I think Angle has to win and Unforgiven at home in Pittsburgh. Like USA and all that. The amount of pieces coming together in sheer coincidence reminds me of the Bucs getting Brady and winning the title

Holy shit the pop is going to be deafening isn't it

I had to Google this. Steph comparing 9/11 to steroid trial and JBL talking about turning countries into parking lots?
Yup.

I don't remember word for word but Stephanie said something to the effect of "a few years ago, some people tried to ruin my family so I know what America is going through". At least that's what she was implying from my memory.

And JBL said something like "we're going to find you and we're going to turn your country into a parking lot."

I don’t see anything wrong with the JBL stuff but oh man, Stephanie, Stephanie, Stephanie…

How can you not see anything wrong with what JBL said? It was out of line. Basically saying we're going to kill your innocent civilians and bragging about it.
I guess I mean it didn’t surprise me that it aired. Different time.

Summer of 2002. HBK joins nwo. But that angle died a few weeks later when Nash got injured. So what was the original plan?

Starting Unforgiven 2001.

I don't remember Bradshaw's "parking lot" remark but he said some shit though. Stephanie comparing 9/11 to the steroid scandal was absolutely kept. I actually think all of WWF in it's entirety has been kept on Peacock. I'll have to recheck Bradshaw

I've seen me some shit boys

Just finished Taker/Kane vs Kronik and the good guys retain. Thank God Sara seems to be gone. I hope DDP is too. I don't think I'll ever unsee that whole fiasco. That stalker angle might be the worst I have ever seen. It's not anyone's fault. It's just that some ideas should never get the green light.

And I am shocked how many times Angle has humiliated Stone Cold and buried him to this point. I would almost be surprised if Angle went over because if he does (and I do think it's possible) it's because this was intended (at that time) to be a sort of passing of the torch because I gotta say right now Angle is just humming at "gold shovel" push that would make Austin and HHH smile. I don't know why you put him over THIS MUCH otherwise

Just finished Unforgiven 2001. Appropriate ending with Kurt winning it. Especially on the heels of the terrorist attacks about 2 weeks prior to that point. Making Austin tap like that is a HOF cementing moment within 2 years in the company.

Maybe I was wrong. Maybe they're not passing torches. I have a different question. Who did Austin piss off to get buried THAT badly? Maybe he tapped out before in like 1996 or 1997 in the WWF but I've watched every match since he went from Stone Cold to "STONE COLD! STONE COLD! BAH GAWWDDD!!!" and can't remember him doing it. Jesus Christ and I complained about HHH burying Mick Foley. This might've actually been worse.

But this is not a complaint. I just almost don't believe that the most untouchable man in WWF for so many years just got victimized that badly for like 6 weeks or so. Either way, kudos. MASSIVE MASSIVE kudos to Steve Williams/Austin for being so professional as to put the man over that much. If that ain't respect I don't know what is.

But guys. GUYYYYSSSS. YOU GUYS!!! You know what this means? MY OLYMPIC HERO IS CHAMPION AGAIN BAY BAY!! WOOOOOO!

So this popped up on Facebook the other day and I don't know why, but it always gives me a chuckle. Especially when he talks to Razor & Diesel.

My guess........It was either to have Triple H join and have him lead a heel nWo on Raw or it was for Triple H to tell his two buddies to go kick rocks which would of likely lead to a feud against Nash.

Not sure if it's classic because it's so recent but I just watched Wyatt's miss teacher lady promo again and I'm so mad they didn't make this guy a top guy

I’m watching SmackDown from 2003 and the Dawn Marie/Torrie Wilson/Al Wilson angle is really the worst of all time maybe

The roster is awesome though

Lesnar, Angle, Team Angle, Cena with B2, the Guerreros, Benoit, Edge, Tajiri, Kidman, A-Train, Big Show, Taker, Nunzio, Noble, Demott. It’s a show with a high work rate

They really shouldn’t have broken up Billy + Chuck

Fans went from "what?" chants to basically a standing ovation. It was incredible.

I don't know if there's a superstar in recent memory so mishandled as Bray Wyatt. John Cena had absolutely no business winning the match at Wrestlemania 30, either.

Thats just after the Smackdown Six era of Angle, Eddie, Chavo, Benoit, Edge and Mysterio. Those guys carried the brand with their wrestling ability and high work rate. Excellent matches almost every week.

I remember loving that era when I was a kid. Seems like I’m wrapping that era up, they did an injury angle with Mysterio/A-Train. Still a lot of all the other guys you mentioned

Yeah, I loved that era too. Right before I went off to college and started paying less attention to wrestling. It was around 10 years before I got back into it as much as I was in the 90s and early 2000s. Is it the WWE network that you guys watch these old episodes on or are they available elsewhere?

Yeah I watch on Peacock. They haven’t edited it down too badly either

I think I get Peacock for free with comcast so I don’t have to shell out to watch it and that’s why I do
