John Cena just turned on B2 (Bull Buchanan) for Redd Dawg (Rodney Mack)

A-Train is so unique lol
I thought Bull and Albert were both pretty good big men. Not great or anything but pretty decent.

Yeah I always thought A-Train (and Test) were pretty good for big man. In ring wise they were better than Kane at least.

SummerSlam '92. So much better than Game 2. Good card. Even the weak matches had nice spots. Made the best of filler. Savage carries Warrior like a champ. Bulldog over at Wembley. Sherri Martel is a boss.

Just so happens there is a whopping 32 page review of SummerSlam '92 in the latest issue of The Atomic Elbow which arrived today.

SummerSlam 92 to me is the final PPV from the WWF Golden Era. I consider WM 8 The Last Hurrah, but SummerSlam still had a lot of characters from that era.

By the time they got to Survivor Series, it was well into a transition phase.

Absolutely. Survivor Series 1992 was the first time with the WWF I was wondering why there was no main event. I was 13 at the time, so a punk kid. I get it now, but at the time, it was not impressive. So many new faces, the old faces were in entirely different roles.

Thinking back to that period of time, WCW had moved out of their golden era far before that. I'd argue it happened with the sale of JCP, but one could argue it carried over to late summer 1990. Great American Bash 1990 had a lot of the old guard, and as you put it regarding Mania 8... It was probably the Last Hurrah. By Halloween Havoc 90 it had changed substantially. The transition phase lasted until summer of 1991 where Ric left and they had the "pre-Hogan, post-Flair" years.

I think Flair was only gone for one year but WCW was great in those years. My favourite era for them. Had some goofy characters but a lot of talent and better wrestling than the NWO years. Now, the NWO years were awesome to live thru but looking back the wrestling wasn't as good as the early 90s.

Tag match: Kane/RVD vs Storm/Regal

Regal was legitimately knocked unconscious and it’s wild to see how quickly and efficiently they worked around that and got him tagged out. Absolutely wouldn’t fly today though

I think it was 1.5 years Flair was gone. He started having problems with Herd in early 1990 and by Great American bash he left and was in WWF in a month with their belt since they never gave him his $25000 deposit back lol. He left some time after....... The last match I remember him in was Flair vs Backlund as #1 and #2 in the Royal Rumble in 93.

Man back when Backlund was as Howdy Doody vanilla a babyface as humanly possible who "gosh darns" everything. He didn't even have ring music LOL.

but Owen Hart managed to Wrestle in WCW in Flair's Absence. And maaaaan were things different back then.

Someone tell me Bret Hart couldn't cut a promo:

Early in his career he sucked at promos lol. Apparently he kept his shades on because his eyes were always darting everywhere and showed how nervous he was and how forced his words were. And he let Anvil lead a lot

Once he hit the mid stages and got a singles push when he started method acting and really blending the real life in with his hitman persona, it was much more organic. He hit another level with his heel turn.

Steve Austin was like Macho man where the fans started cheering him even though he was supposed to be the heel. But while Macho man had to soften his approach to the fans and his wife to enter babyface territory fully, Austin ended up not even having to change a thing about his character. The fans were still somewhat split at WM13.

Very few people could have pulled that double turn with Steve Austin off. In 1 match and with 1 follow up interview, which was like 15 minutes long, he managed to fully get Steve Austin into the Babyface territory while sliding himself into most hated heel in America territory. And the plan was for him to stay face everywhere but the USA and he pulled it off, always getting massive cheers in Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia lol. He was smart always coming out in the jerseys of the Hockey teams in Canada. When in Toronto, he wears a leafs Jersey. In Edmonton, he wears an oilers Jersey.

And man he got nuclear heat.

Not really sure where this would belong but Rene Dupree has his own YouTube channel that I find to be fascinating. Basically has a lot of lower to mid card guys from his era on. They do livestreams and answer fans questions. It’s pretty compelling. Does a lot of work with Paul London on it.

Who is kicking Glacier in the junk? Lodi? Found a partial list of Glacier's WCW match history and he was frequently paired with a Raven flunky for a good clip.

Probably Lodi. Only other person it could be is Sick Boy when he dyed his hair blond I think

I’ve also drank a bunch of NyQuil for a bug I’ve got so I may have no idea what I’m talking about
