In 1987-88, they had DeBlois (1977), Duguay (1977), Patrick (1981), Dahlen (1985) and Leetch (1986) on the team

In 1988-89, they had DeBlois, Patrick, Dahlen, Leetch, plus Jayson More (1987)

Interesting --- great job finding that. I'd be curious to see if those guys were actually in the lineup on the same night, or if it was done seperately over the course of a season.

So essentially, we haven't had this many Ranger first round picks in our lineup since before all but Staal were born --- 27 years.

You can just see that he's feeling it right now.

I had no doubt he'd score on that breakaway and it seemed like he didn't either.

When he's confident he's a force out there. Couldn't have picked a better time to turn it on.

November 6, 1988... We lost 6-5 @ NJD and Dahlen, DeBlois, Leetch, Patrick and More played... It was Jay More's only game as a Ranger that season. In the season 1987-88, Leetch only made his debut after we traded Duguay to LA.

Seasons where we had 5 players drafted in the 1st round:

2015-16: Staal, Kreider, McIlrath, Miller, Skjei
2013-14: Staal, Del Zotto, Kreider, McIlrath, Miller
1998-99: Leetch, Kovalev, Sundstrom, Cloutier, Malhotra
1997-98: Leetch, Kovalev, Ferraro, Sundstrom, Cloutier
1988-89: DeBlois, Patrick, Dahlen, Leetch, More
1987-88: DeBlois, Duguay, Patrick, Dahlen, Leetch
1975-76: Park, Vickers, Middleton, Dave Maloney, Dillon
1974-75: Park, Vickers, MacMillan, Middleton, Dave Maloney

We also had 4 straight seasons where we had 6(!) first round picks on the roster.

1977-78: Vickers, Dave Maloney, Dillon, Murdoch, DeBlois, Duguay
1978-79: Vickers, Dave Maloney, Dillon, Murdoch, DeBlois, Duguay
1979-80: Vickers, Dave Maloney, Murdoch, Deblois, Duguay, Sulliman
1980-81: Vickers, Dave Maloney, Murdoch, Deblois, Duguay, Sulliman

2006-07, we had 0 players drafted in the first round on the roster.

Lately, Kreider has looked like he is enjoying himself out there. It's not a bad thing seeing him enjoy the advantage he has; almost like he just realized again that he is fast and can turn that into goals.

Chris Kreider

Does anyone know who the agent is for Chris Kreider? Thanks for any help!

He did something - I feel the topic is kind of wrong view of Kreider..
He had a 43 pts. season which might be a little low to be him, or what many expected him to have his big breakthrough season.. However, he had a good run in the last part of the season, and hopefully he will be an important piece for us when playoffs start.

Great work. Interesting to see some of the gaps in there and names I'd kind of forgotten.

I'd really like to see him better utilize his size and strength along the boards next season, something which the Ranger's are sorely lacking in.

For that to happen 3 things need to take place.
1)He has to improve his balance (which takes time to completely develop in bigger players so I'm still holding out hope he cracks at least an 80 in his videogame balance stat ;)) This will also help him in front of the net battling for loose pucks etc.
2)Be willing, no, EAGER, to muck it up on the boards.
3)Make quicker and more sound decisions of where to go on the ice which I hope will come with more practice and experience.

With his speed and strength he can be a force on the boards. Unfortunately even when he's the first man in on a dump in he still gets outshifted for the puck more often than not.

What type of contract would you offer to this guy? Or do you want to trade him?
I'd say something like 3.75M for 4 years, or something similar.

Of The RFAs Kreider is probably the most likely to be traded. I don't want it at all, but that's how I'd lay the odds.

Should they sign him I think your contract is right in the wheelhouse for my expectations. $3.5-4.5 over 4-5 years.

I think Hayes is more likely. Dont fit the system at all, he is extremely slow....

hayes' value has to be down right now after a rough 2nd year...plus our depth at center is pretty weak without considering moving stepan or brassard in a trade. so because of that i'm not expecting hayes to be moved.

yeah, I`ve feeling they will try to move him with, but Stepan is slow as well so who knows what is going to happen. :)

Stepan processes the game a lot faster than Hayes, though. Skating speed is not everything, though I am not saying speed does not matter. Stepan keeps up. Hayes needs to get the puck dished off faster. He plods.

And still got 20+ goals. He will get 5m

Hoffman was awarded 2 mil in arbitration after his 27 goal, 48 point rookie season. Kreider's proved more over the course of a few seasons than Hoffman did at that point, but 5 mil? I doubt it. 3.5-4 is more likely.

I think Kreider is getting very underrated here. His offensive output is inconsistent, but he pushes the play as much as anyone on our current roster. I think he's undispitably a top-6 winger.

So, here's the thing about the bolded. Take a look at the following chart:

Now, imagine that each player's full season p/60 was another line featured on this chart here going straight across horizontally.

Kreider - 1.77
Miller - 1.92
Hayes - 1.90

Which one of these three players would you say has a line that hovers at or near their season average with the least variance? Probably Hayes. The most variance? Easily Miller. Kreider has some variance, but I'd wager it's not that wild.

Who knows. Maybe this is more blind Miller hate.
