So, here's the thing about the bolded. Take a look at the following chart:

Now, imagine that each player's full season p/60 was another line featured on this chart here going straight across horizontally.

Kreider - 1.77
Miller - 1.92
Hayes - 1.90

Which one of these three players would you say has a line that hovers at or near their season average with the least variance? Probably Hayes. The most variance? Easily Miller. Kreider has some variance, but I'd wager it's not that wild.

Who knows. Maybe this is more blind Miller hate.

What i gather from that is...Miller is busting fast, look at the end of the season drop!...trade him!!

:sarcasm:

November 6, 1988... We lost 6-5 @ NJD and Dahlen, DeBlois, Leetch, Patrick and More played... It was Jay More's only game as a Ranger that season. In the season 1987-88, Leetch only made his debut after we traded Duguay to LA.

DeBlois got traded in the Beck deal, didn't he?

Hoffman was awarded 2 mil in arbitration after his 27 goal, 48 point rookie season. Kreider's proved more over the course of a few seasons than Hoffman did at that point, but 5 mil? I doubt it. 3.5-4 is more likely.

You do realize Hoffman came off a 700k contract and Kreider is currently on a 2.475m deal? Hoffman had 1 season scoring 20+, Kreider is more comparable to Nyquist

Somewhere similar to the Simmonds and Nyquist contracts should be good comparables for Kreider.

Dont worry, he will "do stuff", every 3-4 games
Maybe

Edit:

5 mill? Loool. Better be a 7 year contract 5 mill average then. Front loaded as hell
3 per for 3. 9 total

Guy looks really good so far this year. Maybe getting his Contract calmed him down a bit? Looks like core leadership & first line material out there. Some gaffs but nobody is perfect. I am impressed so far, and was very sceptical before...

A bit OT, A friend of mine, former NHL player btw, posted this yesterday and jokingly added something in a PM that it would be dangerous to show it to #21 for future reference. Brutal - but too funny.
So for the uncertain future of Varey Price and others now being at risk - here goes

Yes, Kreider & Zib are hot in these two games - I hope they continue to impress us!
I`ve Zib on 75 pts. this year.
Not sure about Kreider, but he looks very promising and that is exciting! :)
Let`s hope they dont trade Kreider for Trouba as Larry Brooks mentioned earlier. ))

That short side goal was no accident. That was a snipe, I knew he had a heavy wrist shot but I didn't think he could pick corners like that. Kreider always teased us as a poor-mans Ovechkin hopefully he can play all year like this.

Everyone goes through slumps. Kreider will have his. What is important is that he keeps playing this physical style. This style of play will allow him to continue to make an impact and then the points will show up again quickly.

Thats the difference. With his toolbox he should be noticeable every night even when he isn't scoring. It sounds like he understands that and we'll see if he can turn that corner.

Yeah I see some people saying it was a soft goal or something because it went off Jones' shoulder and in rather than straight in, but whatever, people will always find things to complain about.

His shot has always been very hard with a quick release but yeah he's not been particularly accurate with it. I wouldn't assume he's going to start sniping corners all season long but being able to put one in like that helps a lot. I feel like he used to always go low blocker just over the pad but hasn't had luck with that recently, so maybe he's mixing it up.

and yeah he's obviously not going to keep scoring every game but as long as he keeps playing like this and can keep it up all year and into the playoffs, he should have a big year

Dude is on another level right now.

And it's mainly because his motor is running every shift for the first time in his career. Hope he keeps it up.

Stopped reading the article as soon as I read this:

Back to Kreider, the recurring question posed by Rangers fans is “why hasn’t he been dominant on a consistent basis?” Well, it’s easy to forget that he’s only one of four NHL players to record 60 goals, 125 points, 220 PIM and a plus-40 rating since the 2012-13 season. Brad Marchand, Milan Lucic and Corey Perry are the others. That’s pretty elite company.

Why are 220 PIM treated as a positive when most of his come from stupid penalties? There are probably more than 4 that have 60 goals 125 points and a plus-40 rating but the others just have discipline. Either this guy is an idiot or thinks the people reading this article are idiots.

Because tuffness

He had 17 PIM the second half of last season. He's got two this year. What stupid penalties?

I have a strong feeling that a good portion of his PIM came from his reputation and getting tossed several times for just hitting people too hard.

This iteration of Kreider is most definitely what I signed up for.
