I still think he's going to do really well despite all the doubters and Analytics Parrots and other folks who think this is a ridiculous overpayment.

But since he's now part of a rival of my #2 team I'm hoping this ends up backfiring spectacularly for the Blackhawks 'cause bitterness.

Analytics for Torts coached team should be thrown out the door. Analytics do not use context and are f***ing garbage.

looking at cap friendly; both kane and toews are off the cap in 2 years; next year might be the only year there might be a cap crunch; in 20 years hawks get 20 million cap relief I am sure both Kane and toews sign a very cap friendly deal after their current deals are done (if they want to continue playing).

Now that I think about it this isn't as bad as I initially thought. Given the context this deal isn't as terrible IMO

Caleb Jones ceiling is high because he's a 7th defenceman. Lol

Well you have to start somewhere. Look at n murphy he wasn't that great in Arizona and his first couple of seasons in Chicago were NO picnic but he matured and is now a top 4 defenseman. Sometimes a change of scenery is all a young player needs .

Yeah your probably right but. Stan managed to move a declining defenseman with no salary retention and grabbed a young defenseman with a high ceiling, then flipped boqvist who imo is awful and a 1st round pick in a draft that isn't screaming with talent for a top defenseman sure the salary seems a bit high but that's the going rate and chicago won't be in cap hell after next year with toews and kanes 21 million off the books

I for one LOVE this deal. I'm a big Seth Jones fan so I'm happy he got paid and as a Wings fan I hate the Blackhawks - so this one is a win-win for me.

Actually stans acquired alot of good pieces . Toews is potentially coming back the blue line is much stronger now with Seth Jones, Murphy, dehaan, beuadin , Jones Mitchell. Plus lankinan has the potential to be a great goalie he showed last year he can play lights out. Biggest concern is the head coach

I just mean in general. With all the overpayments going on. If you think Jones is a capable of franchise 1D potential with his size and ability it's a good gamble.

Jones is a risk. I am not an analytics follower at all. I do watch every CBJ game and 2 years ago I thought Jones would win the Norris. But last year he looked like a different player. Of course some of that may have been due to the Jackets being down but I can tell you that Seth Jones looked bad as an individual player. I have no idea if he can get back on track. Maybe he will and it will be a great trade for the Hawks but if the Jackets signed him to that deal I would be very unhappy.
